We're on the precipice of the most exciting event in professional golf, and my top 10 power rankings this week will be littered with players from Team USA who have been urged to play this event by their captain in preparation for Bethpage Black in a few weeks. It's a great thing for the 2025 Procore Championship as Silverado Resort is set to host its strongest field in years.
In this article, I’ll break down my Top 10 Power Rankings, using recent form and data-backed player profiles to identify those best suited for the North Course at Silverado Resort in Napa, California. By analyzing recent lead-in form and the golf course specs, we’ll zero in on the player skill sets that I believe can thrive here, spotlighting the players most likely to contend for the trophy.

No. 10 - Collin Morikawa

Admittedly, this is an awkwardly low spot in the rankings for Morikawa, who struggled to end his season with lackluster results throughout the FedExCup Playoffs.
- He's had a few weeks to get right, and hopefully was able to fix some of the issues he's having on the greens. He's lost strokes putting in seven of his last eight starts.
- Elite and accurate ballstriking will be actively rewarded at Silverado, and Morikawa has always fancied California golf. There is reason for optimism.
No. 9 - Ben Griffin

Much was made of his gains in distance, but he'll need to keep his ball under control at Silverado. 61st in Strokes Gained: OTT over the last three months indicates slipping form with the Driver.
- He makes up for it with the putter, and Griffin is excellent around the greens. He's highly motivated to play well in the Ryder Cup and I think he's paid close attention to his swing over the last few weeks in preparation.
- 12th-or-better in all three FedExCup playoff events, where Griffin took care of business on the par 5's, a key marker for success at this course.
Ben Griffin is continuing to play as well as anyone in the world not named Scottie Scheffler.

No. 8 - Akshay Bhatia

Spoiler alert: Bhatia is the only player in my power rankings that won't be teeing it up at the Ryder Cup, but his name came up more than a few times throughout the year.
- He's competed in this event twice, including in 2020 as a fresh face on the PGA TOUR, where he finished T9 that week.
- Ranks 5th in Strokes Gained: Approach over the last 24 rounds. His wedges have been dialed in.
No. 7 - Justin Thomas

It was a rough end to the 2025 season for Thomas, but we know he'll be a pillar of Team USA in a few weeks, and I am expecting a good performance this week in Napa.
- Thomas played this event in 2023, finishing 5th and gaining strokes in all four major categories that week.
- The putter has still been red hot for Thomas, but he strangely lost strokes on Approach in his last two starts. If he cleans that up, this is a tournament that he can win.
No. 6 - Sam Burns

By whatever metric you want to use, Sam Burns is trending positively and appears ready to take home a victory sooner rather than later.
- He's the #1-ranked putter in the field, both short-term and long-term. On these small greens in Napa, he should be able to roll home more than his share of putts.
- Burns is a vastly improved short iron player. He ranks 8th best in the field in Approach proximity from 100-160 yards. He can be lethal from that range at this course in particular.
No. 5 - Cam Young

I was thrilled that Young was selected for the Ryder Cup team. He's one of the hottest American players right now and deserved his spot on the team.
- He's top 5 in wedge proximity, Strokes Gained: OTT, and Strokes Gained: Total over the last 30 rounds.
- A winner at the Wyndham Championship to end the season on a short, demanding course OTT bodes well for Young on a similar style golf course.

No. 4 - Russell Henley
- Henley was exceptional when we last saw him at the TOUR Championship two weeks ago, pushing Fleetwood to the end and finishing T2.
- Reliable OTT and hits a ton of fairways, 5th most in the field. The fairways in regulation average at Silverado is just 48% over the years, well below the TOUR average. He's well-suited here.
- Henley fixed some midseason woes with his irons, gaining 12+ strokes on Approach in his last five tournaments. He was positive in all five starts.
No. 3 - J.J. Spaun

He's extremely inconsistent but has flashed absolute brilliance in spots this season. I'm calling my shot here and I think this course sets up great for another J.J. Spaun week.
- Spaun is one of the few players in the field who has competed in each of the last five Procore Championships. His best results previously were a T9 and a T11.
- Accurate Driver of the golf ball, and he can get red hot with his irons. I like his course history and upside a lot at Silverado.
No. 2 - Patrick Cantlay

The NEW Captain America, Mr. Patrick Cantlay, has arrived in form to Napa and is ready to do what he does best.
- He started working with infamous putting coach Phil Kenyon a month ago, and it has paid immediate results. When Cantlay rolls it, watch out!
- Cantlay has gained 6+ strokes on Approach in two of his last three starts. He's firing and coming off a T2 at the TOUR Championship. When he gets confident, he can win any tournament.
No. 1 - Scottie Scheffler
- This guy is just simply the best player of this generation. He'll be a massive favorite to win when the odds drop and the price is well deserved.
- Scheffler won the BMW Championship to cap another five-win season, the first since Tiger Woods to have back-to-back 5-win years.
- The gap between him and the 2nd best is enormous. Scottie is HIM!
