Gameweek 11 Preview - Fantasy Premier League Predictions, Tips, and Picks for 2023/24

Welcome to Gameweek 11 of the FPL season, RotoBallers! This is the third year covering FPL on the site, and we are bringing you more coverage than ever before. We will publish the Gameweek Preview, consisting of a Staff Roundtable and our weekly rankings every week. Then, once a month, we will publish our newest article, The Watchlist, a review of the previous month and a look ahead to the upcoming fixtures.

Ten gameweeks down, 28 more to go. No Friday deadline means we don't start our FPL weekends until Saturday morning when Fulham and Manchester United battle. Newcastle versus Arsenal is a highly-anticipated tilt to watch in the late window. Meanwhile, there are two games on Sunday between Nottingham Forest-Aston Villa and Luton-Liverpool. Gameweek 11 wraps up with a Monday night contest between Spurs and Chelsea.

The Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 11 deadline is 7:00 AM EST on Saturday, November 4, when Fulham welcome Manchester United to Craven Cottage. Also, look out for the rest of our excellent soccer coverage as the squad gets you all set for every English Premier League, Major League Soccer, and UEFA Champions League slate from a DFS and betting perspective.

Fantasy Premier League Staff Roundtable - Gameweek 11 Preview

The Staff Roundtable is an attempt to get you inside the mind of our FPL staff. Our top soccer writers will answer questions each gameweek to give you an idea of how they view the games. So, without further ado, let’s kick off Gameweek 11!

Eddie Nketiah bagged a hattrick with Gabriel Jesus on the sidelines. How high up is the Arsenal man on your wish list?

  • Euan Leith: Nketiah is toward the top of my list, but I'm not sure I'll bring him into my FPL squad. With Newcastle this weekend and another international break coming soon, Gabriel Jesus may not be far from returning to the starting XI. If we receive a definite timeline for Jesus, or if he's out until Christmas, then Nketiah will become a priority transfer in my squad by Gameweek 12.
  • Jamie Steed: He’s so high up my wish list that I transferred him in last week to replace Jesus, so I managed to reap the 17 points he tallied. At £5.5m, he’s almost a must-have striker. Nketiah can be a bit streaky, as evidenced last season. Following Jesus’ injury at the World Cup, Nketiah scored four goals in five EPL starts, then failed to score in his next four starts. While he’s hot, he should be atop any wish list.

Erling Haaland has Bournemouth, and Mohamed Salah has Luton. How will you choose between them for captaincy this week?

  • Euan: Five goals in three games signals that Erling Haaland is back to his planet-obliterating ways. Two goals and an assist against Man United didn't look that difficult for the Norwegian. Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah is on the road and needed a Matt Turner catastrophe to get on the scoresheet in Gameweek 10. With Haaland at home and seemingly scoring goals for fun again, I'm giving the armband to the Man City man.
  • Jamie: Coin-flip? I feel like home advantage is going to sway things in the favour of Haaland. Last season, 22 of Haaland’s 36 goals came at home, including four hattricks. I have a sneaky feeling that Bournemouth’s style of play could lend itself to Manchester City, giving them a bit of a walloping this week, too.

Who is your favorite midfielder under £6.0 million through 10 gameweeks?

  • Euan: Pedro Neto would've been my choice here, but a hamstring injury has sidelined the exciting Wolves attacker. After Neto, Cole Palmer is the apple of my eye. He's on penalties for Chelsea and the cheapest of the options at £5.0m. Douglas Luiz (£5.6m) and Anthony Gordon (£5.7m) are other options, but Palmer's savings and penalty potential lifts him above everyone else in this price bracket.
  • Jamie: I will keep banging the drum for Cole Palmer despite him being a non-factor in the first few weeks of the season. Chelsea’s inability to take their chances does keep worrying me but you have to believe that they at least become average in front of goal. Chelsea’s next five fixtures are pretty rancid, but I’m holding Palmer and expecting a second-half-of-the-season surge.

Brighton has several enticing options in attack. Who is your favorite Seagull?

  • Euan: Kaoru Mitoma is the best and safest option in the Brighton attack. He's been a catalyst for Roberto De Zerbi's side since he arrived on the sunny seaside. It's not ideal that he's confined to his winger responsibilities, but he has enough moments of brilliance to stay in the FPL spotlight.
  • Jamie: I love Evan Ferguson (dare I say he could go a long way to helping Chelsea’s profligacy). But Brighton (understandably) isn’t overworking their young forward. Kaoru Mitoma remains the most consistent and safest Seagull, so it gets my vote here but don’t overlook Simon Adingra. Adingra has started their last three EPL games, and the 21-year-old is showing his promise. He could have a breakout in the coming weeks.

The promoted teams occupy the bottom 3 spots in the table. Is it a viable strategy to target them week to week?

  • Euan: It's a great strategy if you can find the correct teams. Crystal Palace plays three of the bottom four teams in their next five games. Liverpool plays Luton and Sheffield United in the next five. Meanwhile, after its trip to Newcastle, Arsenal faces Burnley in Gameweek 12 before traveling to Luton in Gameweek 15. If you can load up on players from those three sides, you'll be in good shape heading into the holiday schedule.
  • Jamie: I certainly wouldn’t question that strategy. Luton hasn’t looked too bad recently, but Burnley continues to struggle defensively, and Sheffield United’s defense is leakier than the Titanic post-iceberg encounter. Burnley and Luton do have noticeable home/away splits for goals conceded. Although it’s only a handful of games, that is something work taking into consideration too.

Who is keeping a clean sheet in Gameweek 11?

  • Euan: Liverpool heads down to London to meet a Luton side with three home goals all season. The Reds are coming off back-to-back clean sheets in the league, and Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, and Kostas Tsimikas have a great chance of bagging at least six points this weekend.
  • Jamie: Two teams I would worry about scoring are Wolves and Crystal Palace. But they face the aforementioned Sheffield United and Burnley. It feels like Manchester City at home to Bournemouth is the safest bet of the week, and I’m not sure I’d be comfortable backing anyone else looking at the fixtures.

Which defensive player is providing an attacking return?

  • Euan: Matty Cash has been quiet for a couple of games, but a matchup with Nottingham Forest could open the register for some FPL points. The Aston Villa defender leads the position with a 4.28 xGI yet only has three attacking returns on the season. With the winds of positive regression swirling around Matty Cash, he will help us deposit some much-needed FPL points in our accounts.
  • Jamie: Regular readers will know I like pulling out a very low-rostered player somewhere each week. This is no exception as I’m going with Rayan Aït-Nouri. The Wolves defender has been playing an advanced role recently, and away at Bournemouth in Matchday 9, he recorded shot-creating actions. The loss of Pedro Neto will mean others will have to step up for Wolves and Aït-Nouri couldn’t ask for a better opponent to face this week. He will pick up his first goal involvement of the season on Saturday.

Who's a midfielder or forward rostered on less than 10 percent of teams that will grab us those FPL points?

  • Euan: Jeremy Doku came over to Man City in the summer, but hasn't stamped his authority on a Premier League game... yet. The winger is incredibly selfish, making him an ideal punt in Fantasy Premier League. The Belgian is only in 1.4 percent of teams. He's racked up at least 0.28 xGI in his last four starts, and Bournemouth is one of the easier fixtures of the season.
  • Jamie: In last week’s betting and preview article, I mentioned Phil Foden as someone I’m expecting a return from in the Manchester Derby. He didn’t disappoint. He’s slipped to being on 9.6% of rosters, and at home against Bournemouth, with a fixtureless midweek, I’m backing the midfielder to come good again.

Who is one player you want to, but can’t, have for the Gameweek 11 fixtures in Fantasy Premier League?

  • Euan: Darwin Nunez is shooting up my transfer wishlist, but I have other fires to deal with. The Uruguayan seems fully settled into Jurgen Klopp's plans, and that starting XI spot is his to lose at this point. Two more returns against Nottingham Forest have him up to four goals and five assists for the campaign. He will be in my thoughts in a couple of weeks when Ollie Watkins' fixtures worsen.
  • Jamie: Hwang Hee-chan has a goal involvement in his last four games. He gets to face Sheffield United. Any time there’s an in-form forward facing the worst defense in the league, you want them in your team. Unfortunately, I’ve had to make many transfers lately to get a (near) fully healthy team. I can’t bring in the Wolves, man as well.

Who's getting the Captain's armband?

  • Euan: Erling Haaland's masterful moments in the Manchester derby convinced me to give him the armband. Mohamed Salah is a close second, but Liverpool has a way to make their road games more challenging than they need to be. Manchester City is clicking now, and Bournemouth has allowed the third most away goals this season.
  • Jamie: Last week, I gave it to Bukayo Saka. Six other players scored more points than him in my squad, including three on my bench. My confidence is slightly shaken after that, so I’m playing things safe and going with Haaland. I’ve already mentioned how I expect Manchester City to win handily on Saturday, and the Norwegian is a sure bet to have a big game if they do.

Finally, what’s your bold prediction for Gameweek 11?

  • Euan: Tottenham continues to surprise with another win over Chelsea. Nottingham Forest can take a point off Villa at the City Ground. Jeremy Doku is the second-highest FPL scorer for Man City against Bournemouth.
  • Jamie: Fulham pile on the misery for Manchester United fans, and both unbeaten teams take their first loss. Manchester City also account for a third of goals scored by home teams this week as we see a rather low-scoring Matchday 11.
