Outfield Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups - Week 26 (2024)

Parker Meadows - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Wade's fantasy baseball waiver-wire outfielders to pickup for Week 26 (2024), September 16 to September 22. Who on waivers can help you win your championship?

Welcome back, RotoBallers! This article will discuss waiver wire pickups for the outfield in Week 26, September 16 through September 22.

For many reading this article, you're likely at the most pivotal point in your season... playoffs. If you're in a league with two-week playoff matchups, it's championship time. You've come this far; it's time to finish strong.

If you're worried that your outfield will keep you from hoisting your league's trophy come season's end, these outfielders are poised to shine in Week 26 and beyond.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball draft tools and resources:

Outfield Waiver Wire Adds

Parker Meadows, Detroit Tigers

Yahoo: 19%; ESPN: 6%

2024 stats: .237/.310/.437 / 10 2B / 6 3B / 7 HR / 25 RBI / 9 SB / 22:61 BB/SO

Through his first 35 games with the Tigers this season, Meadows was dreadful. In 97 plate appearances, he slashed just .131/.247/.286 with six extra-base hits and 12:34 BB/SO. Fortunately, he's managed to turn things around. Since the beginning of August (143 PA), he's slashing .305/.352/.534.

Some may be concerned with Meadows' lack of experience or track record. Though he only has 105 MLB games under his belt, that shouldn't matter. What matters is the fact that he's been outstanding lately. If you're looking to ride the hot hand, it doesn't get much better than this.

P.S. As I finished writing this article, Meadows homered again. He now has eight on the season. I'd be confident, rocking with him in the championship.

Byron Buxton, Minnesota Twins

Yahoo: 58%; ESPN: 21%

2024 stats: .275/.333/.534 / 23 2B / 17 HR / 50 RBI / 6 SB / 18:90 BB/SO

If there's anyone on this list who's capable of carrying your team over the next weeks, it's Buxton. After spending the last month on the injured list, he homered in his first game back. This shouldn't be much of a surprise; Buxton is one of the most talented players in the game.

Despite his raw abilities, Buxton is still a wildcard. He could carry your team, but he could also hold it back. Over the last few seasons, he's had high highs and low lows. A risky option, but the payoff could be worthwhile. Whether or not you want to roll the dice is up to you.

Tommy Edman, Los Angeles Dodgers

Yahoo: 60%; ESPN: 36%

2024 stats: .301/.322/.494 / 2 2B / 4 HR / 14 RBI / 5 SB / 3:16 BB/SO

After missing a majority of the season recovering from surgery, Edman has been making up for lost time with his next team. One of the most reliable fantasy options since his rookie year in 2019, Edman provides steady, consistent value.

Not only has Edman been on a hot streak, but he's also hitting in one of baseball's best lineups. Over the next two weeks, he should continue seeing a plethora of run-producing opportunities. If he's still available in your league, definitely consider adding him. He may have the same upside as others on this list, but he's almost certainly the most reliable.

Matt Wallner, Minnesota Twins

Yahoo: 18%; ESPN: 3%

2024 stats: .255/.371/.559 / 16 2B / 13 HR / 34 RBI / 3 SB / 22:82 BB/SO

Wallner is this list's second high-risk-high-reward Minnesota Twin. Through 224 plate appearances this season, he's been phenomenal. However, a profile like his is hard to project over two weeks. On one hand, he could continue mashing homers and producing a ton of runs. On the other, he could rack up strikeouts and cost your team big time.

With Wallner, it's worth keeping in mind that the Twins are set to finish the season against teams with solid pitching: Cleveland, Boston, Miami, and Baltimore. If you're feeling dangerous, I say go for it. If you've got a "better safe than sorry" mentality, Wallner probably isn't the guy for you.
