NASCAR Practice Speeds, Lap Averages, and Notes for Phoenix Cup Series Championship Race (2025)

Ty Gibbs - NASCAR DFS Picks, Betting Picks, Daily Fantasy NASCAR

NASCAR practice speeds, lap averages and notes for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway. Use the NASCAR stats and data to build DFS lineups on DraftKings. Ty Gibbs was fastest.

The NASCAR Cup Series ran a single practice session at Phoenix Raceway on Friday evening in preparation for the upcoming Cup Series Championship Raceway on Sunday afternoon.

The 38-car field was split into two groups for practice, with each group getting 25 minutes on track.

Below you will find the two groups, key notes from the practice session, as well as the practice speeds for all drivers.

Important Practice Notes

Chase Briscoe - It was not a good practice session for Chase Briscoe in the biggest race of his career. He had a flat tire, which brought out an early caution, and then when Briscoe did get back on track, the car didn't feel right. He had a vibration on the final practice run as well.

Kyle Larson - Kyle Larson had a brush up against the wall with his No. 5 Chevrolet during practice, but nothing major. His crew chief, Cliff Daniels, noted in a later interview that you know Larson has speed in the car when he hits the wall a bit in practice, as that means he's trying to get the most out of the race car.

AJ Allmendinger - Allmendinger crashed hard during practice after having an early tire issue. He will have to go to a backup No. 16 Chevrolet for the race and start from the rear.
