MLB DFS Lineup Picks - Early Slate (6/10/21): FanDuel and DraftKings, Daily Fantasy Baseball

freddie freeman fantasy baseball rankings MLB injury news DFS picks

Jorge Pucks highlights the top DraftKings, DanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for the "Early Only" slate on 6/10/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Hello there, MLB DFS grinders! We have a split Wednesday slate and the focus of this article will be on the four-game early only slate for DraftKings and FanDuel. We have some good pitching options and good stacks to consider so let's dive on in and find the best plays for both your cash game and tournament lineups.

While most of our MLB DFS coverage here at RotoBaller is geared towards the main slate, I wanted to give you some of my favorite pitchers and bats for these early games that will help you cash in tournaments and cash game contests. I'll highlight my favorite pitching options here first and then give you some hitters at each price tier to consider as well as my favorite teams to stack up! You can read our DraftKings DFS lineup picks for the main slate and FanDuel DFS lineup picks for the main slate as well.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel and DraftKings slates beginning at 12:35 PM on 6/10/2021. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. You can also check out today's MLB DFS lineup picks for the main slate here, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. Let's get to it!

MLB DFS Pitchers

Julio Urias vs. PIT ($8,500 DK, $10,800 FD)

The pricing on Urias is very interesting as FD has him priced way up while DK is much more palatable. Urias is 8-2 on the season with a 3.48 ERA and has a 26% strikeout rate on the season. Urias is efficient as he is staying ahead in the count over 62% of the time and gets a Pirates team that has four of their batters with a strikeout percentage above 21%. Urias is definitely preferred more on DK than he is FD based on price alone as he could be faded on FD in tournaments so you could fit in some better overall bats.

Freddy Peralta vs. CIN ($9,400 DK, $9,100 FD)

Peralta is priced pretty similarly on both sites and while he does draw a tough matchup against some hot bats from the Reds, he is worth the consideration in tournament lineups. Peralta is 6-1 on the year with a 2.25 ERA and he is generating a 37% strikeout rate this season. The Reds as a team have a 21% strikeout rate against right-handed pitchers this season and are batting .255 against this handedness so Peralta will have to be careful around the heart of this order if he wants to produce a solid outing.

Others to consider: Ian Anderson vs. Philadelphia Phillies

MLB DFS "Bats Worth Paying For"

Freddie Freeman – 1B,  ATL vs. ARI ($5,300 DK, $3,000 FD)

The pricing on Freeman over on FD is just too good to not his the lock button and move on while he is a pricier bat to spend up for in DK. Freeman could be starting to heat up at the plate as he has recorded a hit in three out of his last four games while also recording an RBI in three out of those four games as well. Freeman has done well against Wheeler in his career as he has two home runs and 17 hits in 40 at-bats so this would be a spot to fully trust Freeman.

Max Muncy – 1B/2B, LAD @ PIT ($5,500 DK, $3,800 FD)

Muncy sat out last night due to a sore ankle but could be back in the lineup for the Dodgers this afternoon. He leads the Dodgers with eight home runs against right-handed pitchers and is second on the team with a .241 ISO against this handedness and Keller is one to pick on for this matchup. If Muncy gets into the lineup, he would be one to consider paying up for in all formats.

Cody Bellinger – OF, LAD @ PIT ($4,600 DK, $4,200 FD)

There is a lot to like in this matchup between Cody Bellinger and Mitch Keller. Keller has struggled all season against lefty bats and Bellinger comes into this matchup with a .256 ISO and a 12.8% walk rate against right-handed pitching this year.

MLB DFS Values

Jonathan Schoop – 1B/2B, DET vs. SEA ($4,200 DK, $3,000 FD)

Schoop is one of the better hitters on this Tigers squad when it comes to facing left-handed pitchers. He is batting .286 on the season against this handedness and is second on the team with three home runs against lefty pitchers. Sheffield throws his sinker to right batters over 40% of the time and this is a pitch that Schoop profiles well against as he has a .250 ISO and a .334 XwOBA against that specific pitch type.

Gavin Lux – 2B/SS, LAD vs. PIT ($3,600 DK, $2,600 FD)

Lux is a cheaper Dodgers member that could draw the start on this four-game slate and with the lack of big-time players at this position, he could be one that should be considered in all formats. Lux has a .260 average and a .176 ISO against righties but also profiles well as he has a .226+ ISO against both of Keller's fastball and knuckle-curve.

Bryan Reynolds – OF, PIT vs. LAD ($2,900 DK, $2,700 FD)

With Urias being a big-time chalky option, one way to differentiate in tournaments is by considering a Pirates player or two. One that catches my eye is Bryan Reynolds who is very cheap on both sites. He has done very well against left-handed pitchers this season as he is batting .339 against this handedness while having a .242 ISO and profiles well against Urias's fastball and knuckle-curve  (.227+ ISO against both pitches).

Also Recommended: Willy Adames vs. Luis Castillo, Omar Narvaez vs. Luis Castillo, Eric Haase vs. Justus Sheffield

MLB DFS Hitter Stacks

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Mitch Keller

The Dodgers will be a very popular stack on this slate but they are worth spending up for in the matchup against Mitch Keller. Keller has had a rough year so far as he is 3-6 on the season with a 6.65 ERA and has allowed six home runs in 24 innings pitched. When looking at the Dodgers lineup, it features eight batters that have a hard hit percentage that is greater than 36% while having four batters that have an ISO greater than .185 against right-handed pitchers. He has been beaten up by both sides of the plate but has really struggled against lefty bats as they are hitting .310 against him and have an ISO of .230. The Dodgers have some tough lefty bats in their lineup like Cody Bellinger and Max Muncy so starting with those two would be the way to go while also considering Gavin Lux as an additional piece to a Dodgers stack.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Luis Castillo

The Brewers could be a  popular stack against a struggling Luis Castillo and it is hard to not want to grab a few bats from this lineup. Both sides of the plate have hit Castillo well this year as both righties and lefties are batting .297+ against him and have combined for nine total home runs on the season. Lefties are sporting a .177 ISO against him and this Brewers lineup has some good hard-hitting left-handed bats like Christian Yelich, Daniel Vogelbach, Omar Narvaez, and Travis Shaw.

Other recommended stacks: Atlanta Braves vs. Zack Wheeler, Detroit Tigers vs. Justus Sheffield
