FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (4/4/19): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Daniel E. Dobish highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 4/3/19, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

We have another odd slate with both early and late games. Unfortunately, there are only eight total games, with only three coming after 7 PM EST. This article will focus on the "All Day" slate, allowing you to play either late or early games, depending on what slate you like better.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 4/4/2019. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @BalesSJustin

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Trevor Bauer - P, vs TOR ($11,400)

Bauer was an elite pitcher in the MLB last season, recording a 12-6 record with a 2.21 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP over 28 games (27 starts). He also posted an elite 11.3 K/9, while recording a 0.5 HR/9 over 175.1 innings. He gets an elite matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays, who have featured one of the worst offenses in the MLB this season. Bauer is a -163 favorite in a game set at only 7 runs, giving the Blue Jays an implied run total of only 3.1 runs.

Matt Harvey - P, vs TEX ($6,400)

I hate this recommendation as much as the next guy, but it makes sense. Harvey hasn't been the same pitcher in the last three seasons, as he owns a 16-26 record with a 5.39 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP over his last 68 games (63 starts). He has also recorded only a 7.2 K/9, while allowing a 1.5 HR/9 over that span. He gets a plus matchup against the Texas Rangers in a pitcher friendly stadium. They are a team that generally doesn't travel well, and Harvey is a -151 favorite in a game set at 8.5 runs. The Rangers only own an implied run total of 3.8 runs, and that's enough to consider Harvey for this price tag.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Ryan O'Hearn - C/1B, at DET ($4,400)

O'Hearn owns elite numbers against right-handed pitching. In 2018, he posted a .313 average with a .705 slugging percentage and a 1.108 OPS against righties. He also posted an elite .393 ISO against righties last season. Today, O'Hearn gets a plus matchup against Spencer Turnbull, who is far from an elite option. The Kansas City Royals make a solid offense on this slate, and O'Hearn should be a major part of that.

Brian Dozier - 2B, at NYM ($2,100)

Dozier has gotten off to a dreadful start in the 2019 season, but his price tag is still a bit too low. Imagine Dozier being the same price tag as Tommy La Stella. That's the case today. Dozier gets a tough matchup against Noah Syndergaard, but he owns 102 steals throughout his career. Syndergaard is known for struggling to hold runners on, and Dozier could benefit from that. He shouldn't be considered in cash games, but he's a high upside tournament play tonight.

Hunter Dozier - 3B, at DET ($2,200)

Dozier is another Kansas City player, who has hit right-handed pitching extremely well. He brings 0.008 wOBA and 0.116 ISO differentials against righties. He also posted a .442 slugging percentage against righties last season. He gets a good matchup against Spencer Turnbull, and Dozier is a solid player to pair with O'Hearn for upside tonight.

Marcus Semien - SS, vs BOS ($3,000)

Semien is a player that slides into the lead off spot when he faces off against left-handed pitching. He gets a solid matchup against Eduardo Rodriguez tonight, although it's in a pitcher friendly stadium. Still, Semien owns 0.039 wOBA and 0.067 ISO differential against lefties. He's a consistent option, who also comes with solid upside. He can be considered in all leagues.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Brett Gardner - OF, at BAL ($3,300)

Gardner has been far from an elite option over his last few seasons, but he still comes with tremendous upside. He has been at his best against right-handed pitching, recording 0.024 wOBA and 0.07 ISO differentials against righties. He gets a great matchup against Alex Cobb in a hitter friendly stadium, as well. While he hasn't looked great early this season, Gardner is leading off for the New York Yankees, and he makes a great tournament option.

Mark Canha - OF, vs BOS ($2,200)

Canha is a player that can always be considered when he's playing left-handed pitching. He has been a dominant option against lefties, entering this game with 0.081 wOBA and 0.18 ISO differentials against lefties. He also posted a dominant .604 slugging percentage against left-handed pitching last season. Canha gets a plus matchup against Eduardo Rodriguez, and he makes a solid option in all leagues, although he may be best suited for tournaments.
