Recent Update

4/21:Stepping in for the injured Jacob deGrom, New York Mets starting pitcher Matt Harvey pitched a very solid game against the division-leading Washington Nationals on Friday. Harvey threw seven innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two on 109 pitches in a game the Mets eventually lost 4-3 in 11 innings. The big blemishes against Harvey tonight were two long balls, a two-run shot off the bat of Bryce Harper in the first inning and a solo blast from Jose Lobaton in the fifth inning. Unfortunately, Harvey still isn’t striking anyone out, but that seems to be by design. His 7.36 K/9 is a new career low, but he’s also inducing a lot of soft contact and keeping runs off the board. Harvey has a softer matchup when he takes on the Braves in Queens on Thursday.--Andrew Bua - RotoBaller
