DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (4/2/19): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on April 2nd, 2019. Daniel E. Dobish's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

For Tuesday's slate of Major League Baseball games, DraftKings has contests open for games with first pitch of 7:05 PM EST and later. Be sure to double-check the weather and the lineups before finalizing your roster.

Light rain is in the forecast for game time in D.C. for the Phillies-Nationals series opener. If the game gets started and then has a lengthy rain delay, it could shorten the outings of Zach Eflin and Max Scherzer, so it might be best to avoid that one.

In Texas, the winds will be howling from 12-15 mph from right-center field into the batter's face, so if you wanted to spend heavy money on Astros SP Justin Verlander ($11,500), it would be justified. Remember, the Astros are also 18-4 in their past 22 visits to Arlington, including Monday's 2-1 series opener. The wind will be blowing out at 10-13 mph to the right-center field power alley for the early part of the Red Sox-A's and Giants-Dodgers games, but it will settle down as the game goes along. The way Boston's pitching staff has been going, they certainly do not need more obstacles.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Marco Gonzales - P, vs. LAA ($5,900)

Gonzales hits the mound at T-Mobile Park searching for his third victory of the season already. He has been rather hittable, yielding six earned runs and 16 hits with two walks and eight strikeouts over 11 1/3 innings. Last season he was a solid 3-0 with a 3.34 ERA with 38 strikeouts over 35 innings in six starts against the Halos.

Marcus Stroman - P, vs BAL ($8,300)

Stroman opened with an impressive start on Opening Day, allowing just two hits and four walks over seven scoreless innings with seven strikeouts in a 94-pitch quality start against the Detroit Tigers. Stroman certainly looked the part of the ace, and he should be a nice value against the O's. Baltimore's offense has surprised during the early days of the new season, but Stroman should be able to hold them down while racking up another healthy amount of Ks.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Wilson Ramos - C, at MIA ($3,900)

Ramos is a strong play against the Marlins in South Florida, as he has extra-base hit ability at a very low price tag. J.T. Realmuto is in the same price range, but he has much tougher matchup against Scherzer.

Christian Walker - 1B, at SD ($4,200)

Walker has fired out of the chute with six hits in 11 at-bats (.545) while racking up to doubles, two homers and five RBI. With LHP Eric Lauer on the bump, it's likely Jake Lamb will be on the bench for a second straight game, allowing Walker to play. He had a pair of hits and a walk in the series opener against a southpaw on Monday.

Kike Hernandez - 2B, vs. SF ($3,900)

Houston's Jose Altuve ($5,200) has a favorable matchup against RHP Shelby Miller, if you want to go with the safe play. If you're a little more adventurous, consider Hernandez. He has dominated LHP Madison Bumgarner in their frequent battles, going 19-for-39 (.486) with five doubles, four homers and eight RBI.

Alex Bregman - 3B, at TEX ($5,000)

Roll with the chalk at the hot corner. Miller has served up 20 homers over his past 139 major league innings, and this will be his first start in the American League. Expect the Astros to greet him rudely, including a homer by Bregman.

Tim Beckham - SS, vs. LAA ($3,600)

Beckham has been ridiculous through his first seven games, slashing .423/.516/.885 with three doubles, three homers and eight RBI. Keeping rolling with Beckham at this tremendous price point until he starts to cool off.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

A.J. Pollock OF, vs SF ($4,200)

Never thought I'd see the day where it would be a good idea to have a mini-stack against MadBum and the Giants. However, Pollock knows him well from his days in Arizona. Pollock is 16-for-60 (.267) with four doubles, a triple, three homers and six RBI against the Frisco starter. Remember, the wind will be blowing out to right-center field in Chavez Ravine, too.

 J.D. Martinez - OF, at OAK ($5,300)

Martinez hasn't faced RHP Mike Fiers very often, but he has had a lot of success in their limited dealings. He is 7-for-14 (.500) with two doubles and two solo homers against Fiers. And again, there will be a jetstream blowing out to the power alley in right-center field.
