John Harbaugh Won't Return as Ravens Head Coach
According to sources, head coach John Harbaugh won't return to the Baltimore Ravens in 2026, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. There were rumblings that Harbaugh might be on the hot seat if Baltimore didn't make the playoffs, and now he's out after 18 seasons with the organization. Harbaugh will immediately jump to the front of the list for top head-coaching candidates around the league now that he is on the open market, with the New York Giants perhaps being his top suitor. Baltimore finished 8-9 in 2025 after a 1-5 start, and they were 0-4 this year in games decided by five points or fewer. Since 2008, the Ravens were 45-61 in such games under Harbaugh. He was the league's second-longest-tenured head coach behind Mike Tolin, and Harbaugh's 193 total wins are tied with Chuck Knox for 12th in NFL history. He led Baltimore to 12 playoff berths in his 18 seasons, including six playoff appearances in the last eight years.
