John Carlson Misses Fourth Consecutive Game
Washington Capitals defenseman John Carlson (lower body) isn't ready to rejoin the lineup on Tuesday against the Utah Mammoth. He will miss a fourth straight game after skating on Tuesday morning with a non-contact jersey. Carlson was hurt before the Olympic break and has been nursing a lower-body injury for a month. With Carlson out, Rasmus Sandin has taken on extra responsibilities, joining the first defensive pairing and the second power-play unit. Since moving up in the lineup, Sandin has notched one goal and two assists in three games.
