Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS Picks (7/4/20) - DraftKings, Daily Fantasy

Max Kulish's DraftKings. FanDuel DFS lineup picks for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on 7/4/20. He analyzes CS:GO slates and top targets for eSports DFS contests.

Welcome back, RotoBallers, to our DFS coverage of Counter Strike: Global Offensive for FanDuel and DraftKings.

We have a nice two-game slate today, with the consolation finals from both regions going down. Liquid looks to earn a rematch with EG by taking down GenG in North America. In Europe, BIG looks to get revenge on OG, so they can try and get another crack at the Frenchmen of Vitality.

Today I'll be bringing you my Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS lineup picks, analysis, and advice for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Friday July 4th, at 12 PM ESTBe sure to also check out our awesome CS:GO Premium DFS Tools including our Lineup Optimizer, Research Station, Projections, and DFS Cheat Sheets! CS Summit EU (Best of Three)

  • Team Liquid vs GenG
  • BIG vs OG

CS:GO DFS Captain Considerations

syrsoN - $12,000 (c) - syrsoN is a logical choice for captain because he is undoubted the best/most important player for a team that should win the series. Many people (including myself) were expecting BIG to handle OG with relative ease in their first matchup earlier in the event. OG played really well, and credit to them for doing so, but BIG is a team that is renowned for being able to anti-strat teams. syrsoN is the anchor of the BIG defense which has been their strength throughout this event, with the exception of the last series versus OG. syrsoN is sporting a .72-.62 Kills/Death per round ratio, which is the best on his team.

EliGE -$12,600 (c) - I am doubling down on EliGE after his less than stellar performance against EG. One back series doesn't change the fact that EliGE is the main man on Liquid when it comes to fragging. These two teams have only faced off once, on June 12th, and EliGE finished at an impressive +17 K/D but an even more impressive 1.50 series rating. Ultimately the game comes down to players hitting shots and history shows that EliGE is the best player in this match-up at doing just that.

Other captain plays: NAF, mantuu, tabseN

CS:GO DFS Value Plays

tabseN - $7,800 - tabseN had a day to forget yesterday against Vitality, but has a nice bounce-back potential in this matchup. When the two teams played earlier in the event tabseN was BIG's hot hand, finishing #1 for both teams in total kills and ADR. On Dust 2, a map we are likely to see in some capacity if the series goes three games (BIG picked Dust 2 against OG last time, and it was the decider map vs Vitality), which is one of tabseN's best maps. He's actually had 3 bad games on it since playing against OG, but his rating on the map over the last 3 months is still 1.17 which means that he's shown the ability to carry games on that map before.

It is also worth noting, that in OG's recent maps, the player who has been top of the opposing team's scoreboards has been one of the 2 main rifle players. tabseN and Xantares both fill those roles for BIG, and they were the two highest-rated players of that 2-1 series loss vs BIG last time.

autimatic - $7,200 - autimatic has been carrying the burden for this GenG team in this event, through 11 maps played he leads the team in all major categories including a 1.20 K/D and rating. If GenG are to make this a competitive series, it will be because of autimatic and his ability to utilize the sniper. The last time the two teams met Liquid handled GenG with relative ease, but autimatic was still able to go positive K/D and have a rating >1.00 which is impressive given the non-competitive final scoreline. With only 2 games on the slate, most people will likely be focusing on the two favorites, and autimatic gives you a good option to try and differentiate your lineup from the masses.

Other value plays: Xantares, BnTeT, valde, Stewie2K, NBK,

Top CS:GO DFS Stacks

Team Liquid - Liquid are the favorites coming into this series, and rightly so. On paper, they have more firepower both at the top end and throughout the entirety of the squad. However, I think Liquid's biggest advantage in this match-up is the team's respective map pools. Out of the five maps that will be in play for picks (after the first two bans, which are the same for every team consistently) Liquid has a higher win % in the last 3 months compared to GenG. GenG's best map is Train, which is Liquid's primary ban in every match. GenG will have to take on Liquid on maps they aren't as comfortable on and that could be all the difference, especially playing as an underdog.

BIG - Like I mentioned earlier in the section about syrsoN; BIG are one of the most tactically sound teams in the pro scene. They are known as a team who is able to read and react to tendencies they have picked up while analyzing their opponent's previous games. OG are known as a very solid offensive team, but their loose playing style has seen them give away advantageous rounds on the defensive side. BIG have seen 3 other teams take OG to a 2-1 series since last playing each other, and they should have plenty of mental ammo to take down the side of OG.

Other stacks/teams: GenG actually has a higher team rating than Liquid at this event, but that's due to Liquid's 2 beatdown by EG. Nonetheless, GenG has been fiesty at this event. OG has played a lot of close series, but it seems like whoever isn't carrying the team is performing poorly, so pick and choose at your own risk.
