StarLadder CIS RMR 2021

Best of 3

  • Gambit (-1200) vs. K23(+600)
  • NaVi (-175) vs. Spirit (+135)

Captain Plays

S1mple: S1mple has been the safest play from NAVI and we now get him in a must-win spot so that they can get a rematch at their nemesis Gambit... They just lost today barely but even then s1mple had the jets turned on full blast as he dropped 76 kills with a +20 K/D differential. He has an insane 1.41 K/D with a .86 KPR and a .61 DPR. Also over the last three months, he has had one negative game. So even if Spirit pulls off a miraculous win, there is a very good chance that s1mple is still going to go positive and drop a large number of kills. S1mple is probably one of the best plays on the slate.

Sh1ro: In the other game, we have sh1ro in what should be an elite matchup for them. This is probably the best game to target for a sweep, as K23 is just not on the level that Gambit is. Also, Gambit is going to want another chance to beat Navi when they can. Sh1ro has an impressive 1.48 K/D with a .75 KPR and an insanely low .50 DPR. His dying so little is great because he is losing fewer points in your DFS scoring. I think K23 can keep it somewhat close but I don't think they can win a map against a team as dominant as Gambit is. Sh1ro is a little pricey, so pivoting to Ax1le and Hobbit are great moves as well.

Other captain plays in order of preference: Hobbit, Ax1le, electronic, Mir

Value Plays

interz: With interz, you are banking on a sweep here, but unfortunately he isn't the greatest at a .96 K/D. He flashes occasional upside against worse teams but he is basically just a sweep play. At 6,800 though if he can grab a positive K/D and that sweep, he could hit that 10x score which is what we are looking for out of a value play. I recommend playing Nafany over interz though if you have the extra salary, but if you don't interz isn't a horrible value play to stick in your Gambit Stacks.

Magixx: I think Magixx is one of the safer value plays in a game that could really go either way with NAVI. This match could end up being very close and I really like Magixx as a one-off as he has been playing pretty well in this tournament and over the last month. In this tournament, he has a 1.07 K/D and in the last matchup against NAVI, he went positive. I think this game more than likely goes to 3 maps which could help increase the number of kills and DKP that he scores as I think this time around NAVI isn't going to allow Spirit to sweep them. In the last month heh has a .70 KPR and a .67 DPR and is only 5,600.

Other value plays in order of preference: sdy, B1T, N0rb3r7(GPP), mou(GPP), Boombl4(PUNT)

Top Stacks / Team Picks

Gambit: Gambit is by far the safest play on the slate, I don't give much of a shot of K23 winning this game let alone winning a map. They are pretty expensive though so sacrifices will have to be made elsewhere, in the end, I do think that a Gambit stack could end up being optimal. It will also probably be chalky, so in GPPs I would definitely target the other game as I think that one could end up being very bloody and possibly go 3 maps. But for cash games and smaller GPPs, I would definitely stick to a 3 man Gambit stack if you can make it work.

My top plays are the obvious 3 in Hobbit, Sh1ro, and Ax1le. I do give the edge of Nafany over interz as interz requires the sweep to be worth much DKP but as the cheapest player on a heavily favored team, it definitely can't be a horrible option. I like Ax1le's price quite a bit compared to sh1ros and if you are looking for a pivot, Ax1le would be the one I look to first. But I would say at least two of those three should definitely be in your cash game lineups.

Other Stacks: NaVi
