Jaylin Noel 2026 Fantasy Football Outlook: Higgins Injury Opens Door To Larger Role

Aug 22, 2026, 10:44 AM ET

Jaylin Noel now enters his second season with the Houston Texans, having spent his rookie year in a primarily rotational role with them. He also contributed heavily on special teams, but his offensive involvement could increase after Jayden Higgins (knee) suffered a season-ending ACL injury. Higgins had been expected to operate as a major part of Houston's receiver group alongside Nico Collins. His absence leaves more opportunities available, with Noel, Tank Dell, Xavier Hutchinson and other receivers now competing for the available snaps and targets. Noel therefore has a path to a larger role, although Houston has yet to establish one clear replacement for Higgins. The 23-year-old caught 26 passes for 296 yards and two touchdowns over 17 games in his rookie season. Nonetheless, Noel's own availability is also worth monitoring after he missed time with a finger injury earlier in training camp. He eventually returned to the roster, but his limited offensive production as a rookie also makes his workload difficult to project. However, the change in Houston's depth chart gives him a more prominent opportunity entering the season. His current ADP is around the later stages of fantasy drafts, keeping him in the range where his role could determine his value.--Kevin Sweeney
