Bryce Miller - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Josh's top 25 injured players to stash for fantasy baseball as of Week 20 (2025). His top fantasy baseball injury stashes for IL spots and redraft leagues.

Welcome back to another weekly update of Injured Players to Stash for Fantasy Baseball series as we head into Week 20 of the 2025 MLB season. Today, we provide you with the top 25 high-profile injured MLB players rostered in less than 65% of leagues worth stashing in your leagues, including names like Bryce Miller, Jameson Taillon, Jac Caglianone, and more.

We're heading into the final few weeks of the season, and it's important to know which players are coming back to make a meaningful impact for fantasy rosters. Whether you're in first place or just sneaking into the playoffs, everyone could use a boost from the injured list.

I've put together a list of the top 25 injured players to stash, and highlighted five players that could be important adds. Since this is the final stretch of the year, I will avoid adding players who have undetermined timelines to return. Now, let's get into it!

Fantasy Baseball Players To Monitor Closely

Bryce Miller, SP - Seattle Mariners

Rostered: 64% Yahoo!
Estimated Return: Late August

Miller has been sidelined since early June with bone spurs in his elbow, but appears to be nearing a return before the end of the month. Miller recently completed a rehab start and is expected to pitch in two more before returning to the rotation.

Miller was a key cog in the Mariners' rotation last season as a rookie and was poised to take a step forward this year, but injuries have held him back. The 26-year-old has had two separate trips to the injured list, both for elbow-related issues, but he has a chance to flip the script on the season during the final stretch.

The right-hander posted an impressive 2.94 ERA in 180 1/3 innings last year, good for fifth-best in the American League. Miller is a determined young pitcher with many pitches to work with in his arsenal. If he can come back without any ill effects from the injury, Miller could be a valuable asset in the fantasy playoffs.

Miller is rostered in 64% of Yahoo! leagues, meaning he's available in just under half of leagues. Stash Miller, where you can, because he can provide a meaningful impact, pitching in one of the league's best rotations.

Jameson Taillon, SP - Chicago Cubs

Rostered: 30% Yahoo!
Estimated Return: Mid-August

Taillon is dealing with a calf injury, but it should not hold him out much longer. The Cubs pitcher completed over four innings in his recent rehab start and could rejoin the team this week.

Taillon has posted a serviceable 4.44 ERA in 95 1/3 innings this season, but his value truly comes from his ability to pitch deep into games.

Taillon pitched at least five innings in 12 of his 17 starts this season. This ability to help keep the bullpen fresh benefited the Cubs and fantasy managers alike. Since he pitches for one of the best teams in baseball, Taillon's ability to go five innings in any given start gives him a good chance to come away with wins.

Taillon's execution multiple times through opposing orders also puts him in a position to pick up quality starts, which could be especially valuable in points leagues. The 33-year-old has been an underrated fantasy asset this season, and there's still a window to add him before he returns.

Jac Caglianone, 1B/OF - Kansas City Royals

Rostered: 20% Yahoo!
Estimated Return: August 18-24

Caglianone is sidelined with a hamstring injury, but is set to begin a rehab assignment this week. This progression is an encouraging sign that he could return in the near future. The sixth-overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft and top prospect in the Royals system, Caglianone had a lot of expectations to perform once he reached the majors, and he did not exactly meet them.

Through his first 150 at-bats, Cags hit .147 with five home runs and 10 RBI. Although the surface-level stats were far from impressive, the underlying stats give some reasons for optimism.

His .260 xBA and .462 xSLG are leaps and bounds better than his actual batting and slugging percentages, .147 and .280, respectively. Even if you don't believe in expected stats, his prospect pedigree is evident. The 22-year-old was a prolific power hitter in college and the minor leagues before struggling with the Royals.

The gap between the majors and the minors is the largest it's ever been, and we've seen it take longer for young hitters to adjust, even the most high-end prospects. Perhaps this stint on the injured list will be a blessing in disguise, allowing Caglianone to rest and refocus for his return to the lineup.

Regardless of what he's done so far, Cags is the type of prospect you want to bet on to bounce back because he has the upside to win you any given week. The Royals sugger is rostered in just 20% of Yahoo! leagues, making him an easy player to add and stash for the fantasy playoffs.

Luis Garcia, SP - Houston Astros

Rostered: 4% Yahoo!
Estimated Return: Mid-August

Astros pitcher Luis Garcia is on the verge of joining the rotation to make his 2025 debut, which means he's an interesting player to add before that takes place.

Garcia is recovering from Tommy John surgery and has looked sharp in his minor league rehab starts. In his most recent start, Garcia pitched four innings and racked up seven strikeouts in 59 pitches. His pitch count is getting closer and closer to that of a starter, which is an exciting sight to see for the Astros, who have had their rotation decimated with injuries.

Garcia last pitched a full season in 2022 and had a 3.62 ERA in 157 1/3 innings. The Houston rotation is an advantageous spot to be since their offense has really started to turn the corner as of late. Garcia is rostered in just 4% and his return is just around the corner. Stash him in your IL slot and reap the rewards once he's back.

Chase Meidroth, OF - Chicago White Sox

Rostered: 4% Yahoo!
Estimated Return: Late August

Meidroth was acquired in the deal that sent former White Sox ace Garrett Crochet to the Boston Red Sox and has been an important contributor to the team this season.
Before landing on the injured list with a thumb injury, Meidroth displayed good contact skills and excellent plate discipline. The 24-year-old owned a whiff rate of just 13.1%, ranking in the 95th percentile among qualified hitters.

Meidroth also had a 13.5% strikeout rate, good for the 90th percentile among qualified hitters. His. 252 batting average and .258 xBA leave a bit to be desired, but once he gets on, Meidroth can also steal a bag or two. The young shortstop has 11 stolen bases this season.

Meidroth is not the most exciting name to stash, but he could help managers in deeper categories leagues looking for shortstop or middle infield help. He's also a good player for deeper points leagues because of his excellent plate discipline.

The White Sox hitter is an under-the-radar player to add in case he picks it up following his stint on the injured list.
