CBB DFS Lineup Picks - FanDuel Advice: NCAA March Madness Day 2 (3/20/15)

With March Madness finally here, there is nothing better than a little CBB DFS. Many people fill out brackets for the NCAA college basketball tournament, and DFS games have become increasingly popular as well.

Below are our favorite FanDuel DFS picks for Day 2 of the NCAA Tournament, March 20th, 2015. Day 1 was filled with lots of great games, and hopefully today will be just as fun and exciting, including your DFS games on FanDuel.

Editors Note: If you have not tried out FanDuel 1-day fantasy basketball leagues, RotoBaller offers the best bonuses around. Signup and make a deposit for a new FanDuel account, and receive a 100% bonus on your deposit up to $200.

CBB DFS Players to Target

Le’Bryan Nash – F Oklahoma State, $7,500

Nash, who was once thought to be a top five pick, has not had the phenomenal college career he was supposed to. With that being said he has been an excellent college basketball player and can score on anyone from anywhere on the floor. He is an absolute monster inside and can get into the paint at will.

Look for Nash to use the national stage of the tournament and become a household name by absolutely torching an Oregon defense that allows a lot of points. Once Nash establishes his presence in the paint look for Oregon to start helping over on him and Nash to become a very effective distributor. If you did not know about Nash, you will after his first round matchup.

James Blackmon Jr. – G Indiana, $7,200

In what should be a fast paced high scoring game, look for Blackmon to step up. Blackmon is a deadly shooter and very good in transition. Blackmon, who is larger than Yogi Ferrell, can get his shot off easier. I don’t think it would surprise anyone if Blackmon looks completely unguardable and drops 30 points. Indiana is very small and runs a fast paced offense that revolves around there guards hitting shots.

Frank Mason – G Kansas, $7,500

Kansas has been struggling offensively lately. They have not been able to hit shots and the offense has looked completely out of sync. If Kansas has any shot of making the final four, Mason will have a tournament to remember. He is Kansas’s go to scorer and New Mexico State does not have anyone that can stay in front of Mason. Once they back off Mason he will show off his long range shot. Mason should easily put up at least 25 FanDuel points against a much weaker opponent.

Phil Forte – G Oklahoma State, $5,900

Averaging over 22 FanDuel points per game on the season Forte is a very dynamic point guard. He has very good vision and can drain the three ball. As I stated above, the Oregon Oklahoma State game should be very high scoring. With Joseph Young not wanting to expend so much energy, Forte should have a favorable matchup on the defensive end. Look for Forte to finish the night with around 4 times value.

CBB DFS Value Plays

Matt Costello – F Michigan State, $5,400

Throughout the Big Ten tournament, Michigan State’s offense was much more effective when Costello was in the game. He operates very precisely and rarely ever makes mental mistakes. He always makes the right pass out of the post and is a monster on the boards. Michigan State always shows up in the tournament and Costello is a very high energy player which could earn him a couple extra minutes against Georgia. Also, he will need to be on the floor as Georgia is very large and physical. At $5,400 grab Costello and hope for about 20 points.

Jake Layman – F Maryland, $6,200

Layman is one of the most versatile players in college basketball. At 6’8” Layman is a threat from everywhere on the court. He is a very good three point shooter as well as a threat in the post. He crashes the offensive boards nicely and is always ready to drain a wide open three after penetration from Trimble. You would have to assume that Valparaiso is going to do everything they can to get the ball out of Trimble’s hand which would mean that someone else needs to step up. Look for Layman to put up big numbers and be a steal at $6,200

Josh Gasser – G Wisconsin, $5,000

If Wisconsin is going to make the final four they will need Gasser to play very well. Look for Wisconsin to get Gasser going and run some plays for him to hit open shots. When Gasser is on, Wisconsin is almost unstoppable as it makes it harder for you to focus your defense on Kaminsky or Decker. Wisconsin should have no trouble in the first round so look for them to get everyone involved. Gasser should easily be able to get you three or four times value this round. Also, look for Gasser to show up as this is his last tournament ever, being a senior.

CBB DFS Players to avoid

Perry Ellis – F Kansas, $7,900

Ellis is coming off of injury and if everything goes according to plan, Bill Self would love to restrict his minutes to keep him fresh for the rest of the tournament. If Kansas comes out strong and takes a decisive lead, look for Ellis to not play that much. Even when Ellis does play he will not be as effective as he usually is because he has not had that much game time late in the season.

Montrezl Harrell – F Louisville $10,000

Harrell is the third most expensive forward and has a terrible matchup. Harrell is an excellent player and is very strong but will be checked all game by Mamadou Ndiaye who is 7’6”. Yes you read that correctly, Ndiaye is 7’6”. Besides Harrell having to shoot over the tallest player in the country he will almost undoubtedly be double teamed if anyone else is guarding him. Louisville has not been able to shoot well recently so UC Irvine will not allow anything easy down low for Harrell. For the first round, Harrell is not worth the money.
