Can Mason Heintschel Remain The QB1?
University of Pittsburgh quarterback Mason Heintschel currently sits as the QB1 after a dominant Week 1 performance when he scored 48.2 fantasy points. The sophomore quarterback completed 75% of his 41 pass attempts for 453 yards and seven touchdowns... yes, you read that correctly... seven touchdowns. Context matters, and in this case, Heintschel put up these numbers against Miami Ohio, which, per PFF, had the fourth-lowest coverage grade and the lowest pass rush grade in Week 1 in all of college football. This week, Heintschel faces UCF, which ranked eighth in pass rush and 62nd in coverage in Week 1 per PFF. UCF played Bethune-Cookman in Week 1, so again context matters. The over/under is set at 56.5, with Pitt favored by 7. We can reasonably expect Pitt to score over 30 points, which should position Heintschel to continue as a QB1 in fantasy. Heintschel is ranked as RotoBallers QB1 for Week 2 and is projected for 33.8 fantasy points.
