Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters to Target

Paul Goldschmidt, 1B, New York Yankees

36% rostered
FAAB Bid: 2-4%

New York Yankees first baseman Paul Goldschmidt has been a sneaky fantasy option over the last few weeks. He's batting .333 (30-for-90) with six home runs, three doubles, 22 RBI, and one stolen base over his last 21 games dating back to May 25. Goldschmidt has a hit in 19 of these 21 contests and continues to see consistent at-bats with the Yankees dealing with a handful of injuries.

That's enough reason to add the 38-year-old veteran for the short term. Goldschmidt should provide solid all-around numbers as long as he sees regular plate appearances. He has an 80th percentile xwOBA (.360), 80th percentile batting average (.274), and an 86th percentile expected slugging (.490).

Dominic Canzone, OF, Seattle Mariners

29% rostered
FAAB Bid: ~5-7%

Seattle Mariners outfielder Dominic Canzone has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball lately. He is slashing an impressive .415/.483/.849 with six home runs, three doubles, one triple, and 10 RBI in his last 18 games. This hot stretch has Canzone hitting .288 with 11 home runs and 31 RBI across 67 games this season.

The thing to love about Canzone is that his metrics suggest he could be here to stay as a strong fantasy option. His xwOBA (.386), expected batting average (.291), expected slugging (.536), average exit velocity (92.8 mph), and barrel rate (15.6%) all rank in the top 7% of the league. Spending around 5% of your remaining FAAB is ideal to land the Mariners outfielder.

Kody Clemens, 1B/2B/OF, Minnesota Twins

26% rostered
FAAB Bid: ~5%

Minnesota Twins utility Kody Clemens is finally showing signs of breaking out in his fifth Major League season. He's batting .250 with 11 home runs, 15 doubles, 28 RBI, and six stolen bases in 63 games this season. Clemens has posted even better numbers since the end of May, as he has a .303 batting average with 11 extra-base hits (five home runs), 12 RBI, and one stolen base in his last 17 contests.

Given the way Clemens has hit the ball this year, he is worth grabbing off waivers. The 30-year-old currently has an average exit velocity of 92.6 mph, a 13.1% barrel rate, and an expected slugging percentage of .455. All three of those metrics should help him remain a viable fantasy option. He is projected to hit over 25 home runs with double-digit stolen bases in 2026.

Nasim Nunez, 2B/SS, Washington Nationals

14% rostered
FAAB Bid: 4-8% if you need stolen bases

If you are in need of some stolen bases, look no further than Washington Nationals infielder Nasim Nunez. Nunez currently leads the National League in stolen bases with 27 and trails only Bobby Witt Jr. by one for the MLB lead. His 59 stolen base pace is why the 25-year-old is one of the best waiver wire pickups of the week.

Nunez is going to steal multiple bases each week. He has a 97th percentile sprint speed (29.6 ft/sec) and has stolen at least three bases in a week in three of the last four weeks. His stolen base upside alone makes him an add in all category leagues. The speedy infielder has also delivered in the batting average department recently, as he's hitting .378 in 13 June games.

Blaze Alexander, 2B/3B/SS/OF, Baltimore Orioles

11% rostered
FAAB Bid: ~2-4%

Baltimore Orioles utility Blaze Alexander has gone under the radar in deeper fantasy baseball leagues. Alexander is batting .304 with two home runs, 10 doubles, one triple, 19 RBI, and eight stolen bases across 64 games this season. Those numbers firmly make the 27-year-old an add in some 12-team leagues and most 15+ team leagues.

Alexander has been on a hot streak at the plate as of late. He is slashing .446/.492/.661 with two home runs, six doubles, 13 RBI, and two stolen bases over his last 20 games. With a .311 expected batting average, a 92.4 mph average exit velocity, a 42.7% launch angle sweet-spot rate, and a 46.8% hard-hit rate, he's a top hitter waiver wire target of the week.

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pitchers to Target

Stephen Kolek, SP, Kansas City Royals

36% rostered
FAAB Bid: ~5-7%

Kansas City Royals starter Stephen Kolek is in a groove on the mound right now. He has a 1.59 ERA over his last six starts and has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five of these six outings. His best performances during this stretch include a nine-inning complete game shutout against the Mariners on May 23 and a 7 1/3 shutout inning gem with four strikeouts in his last outing against the Astros last week.

Kolek's recent numbers make him a strong add in most 12+ team leagues. He has maintained a low ERA throughout the season and posted an elite 1.03 WHIP across 50 1/3 innings. While the Royals right-hander won't provide much in the strikeout department (17.2% rate), his 3.41 expected ERA and 5.1% walk rate both suggest that he'll continue to be a solid source of ERA and WHIP.

Gage Jump, SP, Athletics

35% rostered
FAAB Bid: ~10-12%

It is a bit surprising that Athletics starting pitcher Gage Jump is still available in 65% of Yahoo! leagues. If he is somehow still on waivers in your leagues, he is the top waiver wire add of the week. The southpaw has an impressive 2.37 ERA and 26 strikeouts in his first five career starts. In his most recent outing against the Angels, Jump threw seven shutout innings with a career-high seven strikeouts.

The Athletics left-hander has certainly made a quick impression in the big leagues. He has allowed one run or fewer in three of his last four starts, and his metrics jump off the page in his limited Major League innings. Jump has an 82nd percentile expected ERA (3.08), a 93rd percentile chase rate (36.1%), a 97th percentile barrel rate (2.5%), and a 94th percentile hard-hit rate (29.6%).

Peter Lambert, RP/SP, Houston Astros

28% rostered
FAAB Bid: ~5-7%

Houston Astros starting pitcher Peter Lambert is enjoying a breakout campaign. He has a 3.23 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 11 starts this season and has thrown the ball well in the month of June. Lambert has allowed just four earned runs across 18 2/3 innings pitched this month, which included delivering seven innings of one-run ball with five strikeouts in his last start against the Tigers on Wednesday.

With a 3.49 expected ERA and a .213 expected batting average against, Lambert has the potential to be a reliable fantasy option the rest of the year. His poor walk rate (9.5%) has also improved in his last few starts, as the right-hander has not issued any walks in back-to-back outings for the first time this season. He's definitely worth grabbing in Week 13 of the fantasy baseball season.

Andre Pallante, SP, St. Louis Cardinals

26% rostered
FAAB Bid: ~4-5%

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Andre Pallante has come out of nowhere to become a solid fantasy option. The 27-year-old has allowed two runs or fewer in five of his past six outings, and is coming off his best start of the season his last time out. Pallante threw seven innings of two-run ball with six strikeouts against the Padres on Tuesday night.

The only downside to Pallante's game is his low strikeout rate (19.3%), so fantasy managers shouldn't expect much in this category. But the Cardinals right-hander makes up for it with a relatively low ERA (3.76) and WHIP (1.20). His 2.88 ERA since May 17 makes him an intriguing add in some 12+ team leagues.

Jacob Webb, RP, Chicago Cubs

3% rostered
FAAB Bid: ~2-5% if you really need saves

The Chicago Cubs placed their closer, Daniel Palencia, on the 15-day injured list due to right elbow inflammation a few days ago. That opens up save opportunities on this Cubs team moving forward. Jacob Webb could see the bulk of these save chances while Palencia is down, as he has been one of Chicago's best bullpen arms this season. He owns a 3.13 ERA with a 27.4% strikeout rate in 31 appearances.

Webb seems to have the first crack at the closer role with Palencia currently on the shelf. He was called upon in the ninth inning to save Wednesday's game against the Rockies. Although the veteran gave up a run in that appearance, he eventually closed it down. If you are in need of some saves, Webb is a sneaky target on waivers. He should see some save chances until Palencia returns.
