LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier (abdomen) is doubtful to play against Arkansas on Saturday due to an abdominal injury. This injury has nagged Nussmeier at various times during the 2025 season. Mississippi State transfer Michael Van Buren Jr. will get the start against the Razorbacks in the Battle for the Boot. Rumors have swirled online for much of the season that Nussmeier had an abdominal tear but was trying to play through it at the behest of former coach Brian Kelly. There is no confirmation of the rumors, but this lends credence to it since Nussmeier was removed from the last week against Alabama in the first game after Kelly was fired. Nussmeier has completed a career-best 67.4% of his passes this year for 1,927 yards with 12 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.--Mike Marteny - RotoBaller
