Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Pickups - Week 15

Justin Carter's fantasy football wide receiver waiver wire pickups for Week 15 of the 2019 NFL season. These are free agent WRs to add, stream and stash.

Week 15 is upon us, which means that even the holdovers who play in leagues with four team playoffs and no byes are now in fantasy playoff mode. This is it: the home stretch.

Are there any wide receivers left on the waiver wire who can help you in the playoffs?

Let's look at some guys you might be interested in this week. Not all options are the same. Some players may be better in PPR or deeper leagues, so it’s not a one-size-fits-all comparison. Use your best judgment when deciding which of these players is the right fit for your roster. Check here for a complete list of our Waiver Wire Adds for Week 15 for help at all the skill positions. All players on this list here are around 30% owned or below.

Free Agents WRs To Consider Adding

A.J. Brown, Tennessee Titans 24% owned

So, Corey Davis is still more widely owned than A.J. Brown is.

Brown had a big day, catching five of his seven targets for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns while also adding a 13 yard run. He's gone over 100 yards in two of the last three games, and the Ryan Tannehill era has been huge for the rookie. He's a virtual must-own player at this point, which is wild considering where this passing attack was at early in the year.

Anthony Miller, Chicago Bears 20% owned

Miller's role against the Cowboys wasn't what it was in the three games before that, as he was targeted just four times, but he brought in three of those for 42 yards and a score. He still seems to be the number-two receiving option for the Bears, so I wouldn't let the drop in targets be something that keeps me from looking his way.

Diontae Johnson, Pittsburgh Steelers12% owned

The Steelers are in the playoff hunt, so I assume we see JuJu Smith-Schuster again at some point, but until then, why not roster Diontae Johnson? We saw his explosiveness on Sunday as he had a return touchdown, and he also was targeted eight times, catching six passes for 60 yards and another score. His targets have been solid lately, though he's struggled to convert those into receptions, but as Devlin Hodges gets more comfortable under center, Johnson should benefit and increase his effectiveness.

Alex Erickson, Cincinnati Bengals 7% owned

A.J. Green is actually never coming back. Auden Tate left Sunday's game with an ankle injury. John Ross III is back and did basically nothing. So, Alex Erickson by the process of elimination? His line doesn't look great -- five catches for 45 yards on seven targets -- and his team plays the Patriots next, but they also face the Miami Dolphins in Week 16, which...hmm.

Kendrick Bourne, San Francisco 49ers1% owned

He caught two touchdowns, so I think I'm contractually obligated to mention Kendrick Bourne.

I'm not sure how much I actually like Bourne at this point, as he isn't getting a big enough volume of the work in San Fran to guarantee that he's going to produce on a weekly basis, but he also has five touchdowns in the last six games, so if you need a deep league player who has a better chance of finding the end zone than other guys who on the wire have, you might as well look Bourne's way.

Justin Watson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0% owned

I thought Watson would emerge as the number-three receiver for the Bucs before this season, but that never really happened. But with Mike Evans leaving Sunday's game with a hamstring injury and his status moving forward in doubt, there's room for Watson to make an impact in Tampa Bay. He was targeted eight times this week, catching five of them for 59 yards and a score.

Breshad Perriman exists too and also scored, but Watson feels like a slightly stronger fantasy addition.

Marcus Johnson, Indianapolis Colts 0% owned

Every week, I go over to a friend's house to watch RedZone, and every week someone on the Colts gets a touchdown and my friend says "who is that?" The Colts must lead the league in "huh, he's one of their receivers?" players.

Anyways, Marcus Johnson. With T.Y. Hilton out - and Devin FunchessChester Rogers and Parris Campbell all on IR - someone's got to catch passes. It's mainly been Zach Pascal, but Johnson caught three of his seven targets for 105 yards and a touchdown. He's seen his role increase over the past few games (minus the Texans shutting him down) and while his upcoming schedule isn't great, the Saints did just get lit up by the 49ers, so maybe there's room for him to succeed in that one.
