Brock Purdy fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 1 (2024). Should you start or sit Brock Purdy for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: QB1
ANALYSIS: San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has a difficult matchup in the season opener on Monday evening but should be started in all 10+ team leagues.
Last season, Purdy finished as the QB6 in PPR, scoring 306.6 total points. He threw for 4,280 yards and 31 scores and added 144 rushing yards and two rushing scores.
Even though Purdy lacks the rushing upside that many top-tier fantasy quarterbacks possess, his elite weapons make him a reliable fantasy producer. Once again, Purdy will have the best running back in football behind him in Christian McCaffrey, with three elite pass catchers, Deebo Samuel Sr., Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle, this fall.

Last season, these playmakers averaged 6.8 yards after the catch (YAC), which helped Purdy develop the big-play ability his legs lack.
On Monday evening, Purdy will face the tough New York Jets defense, which allowed the third-lowest 292.3 average yards per game last season.
Even though Purdy may not have the matchup to finish near the top of his position this week, the superstars around him will always provide him with a safe floor. As a result, he should remain started in all 10+ team leagues.
