Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS Picks (7/5/20) - DraftKings, Daily Fantasy

Dan Palyo's DraftKings. FanDuel DFS lineup picks for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Morning Slate on 7/5/20. He analyzes CS:GO slates and top targets for eSports DFS contests.

Happy Holiday weekend, RotoBallers, and welcome back to another edition of Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS picks, part of our extensive Esports coverage here at RotoBaller. I'm Thunder Dan, our resident Esports editor, and avid Esports DFS player and I'll be filling in for the irreplaceable Jorge Pucks for the next few days and he takes a much-deserved few days off.

We have a two-game slate on DraftKings on Sunday for the North American and European finals of the CS Summit tournament. It's important to note that both of the teams from the winners' bracket will start with a 1-0 lead and that these series are best of five, not the best of three that we are normally used to getting. I am going to break down both matches a little differently instead of going with the captains, value, stacks format. I'll list my favorite plays from each team in the order in which I prefer them and give my prediction.

Today I'll be bringing you my Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS lineup picks, analysis, and advice for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Sunday, July 5th, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Be sure to also check out our awesome CS:GO Premium DFS Tools including our Lineup Optimizer, Research Station, Projections, and DFS Cheat Sheets! Feel free to follow me on Twitter @ThunderDanDFS as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions. Good luck RotoBallers!

CS Summit Finals (Best of Five)

  • Team Vitality (-260) vs. BIG (+190)
  • Evil Geniuses (-700) vs. Gen G (+385)

11:00 AM ET: BIG vs Vitality

I expect this matchup to be the juicier of the two. ZywOo will be the chalk of the day and if I were you I'd eat that chalk and move on. There is really only one reason to fade him and that is if you think BIG win this series in blowout fashion. Even if BIG wins this series, if the games are competitive (which I expect them to be) ZywOo will likely still be the highest scorer on the slate. These two teams faced off on July 3rd and Vitality won that series 2-1. My prediction here is Vitality 3-2. Shox and RpK are my preferred stacking options with ZywOo for Vitality. RpK has been white-hot all tournament long, holding a 1.21 K/D throughout this tourney. Shox is not far behind at a 1.14 K/D. If you want to go all-in on BIG (which is totally viable) SyrsoN and tabseN are your top two options and correlate well together. XANTARES has been hot lately with a 1.25 K/D in the last month. His recent form makes him very viable as well. If hunting value from BIG, I prefer tiziaN over k1to. At the end of the day, I expect this to be a close series and think both teams win two games which leaves Vitality winning 3-2. I'd definitely get pieces from both sides of this game since I think the other match could be a little more one-sided.

The pick: 3-2 Vitality

Top Vitality plays:

  • ZywOo (14.7k captain, 9.8k)
  • Shox (8.2k)
  • RpK (6.2k) value!
  • apEX (7.2k)

Top BIG plays:

  • syrsoN (12.9k captain, 8.6k)
  • tabseN (7.8k)
  • XANTARES (6.4k) value!
  • tiziaN (5.6k) major value!

3:00 PM ET: Evil Geniuses vs GEN. G

Evil Geniuses start this series with a 1-0 lead and I don't really expect them to look back from that. Maybe this is just personal bias but I'm personally not a fan of GEN. G in CS:GO. Usually it seems like production is too spread out for this team and it is hard to pin exactly who will go off (if any do). Evil Geniuses own the head to head vs GEN. EG swept them once in early June and then again on July 1st. I like EG to win this series 3-1. Brehze and CerQ have the best correlation rating on this team, but Ethan has been hot while holding a 1.22 K/D throughout this tournament. I also have a good amount of interest with tarik as a value play. His correlation with Brehze is very solid and he holds a 1.15 K/D throughout this tourney. On the GEN. G side, autimatic and BnTeT are the top two options with koosta being my third favorite. If you plan on prioritizing GEN G, I would play BnTeT at captain paired with the other two that I mentioned. BnTeT has a very good correlation with both autimatic and koosta.

The pick: Evil Geniuses 3-1

Top Evil Geniuses plays:

  • CerQ (11.4k captain, 7.6k)
  • Ethan (6.8k)
  • Brehze (7k)
  • tarik (5.8k)

Top GEN. G plays

  • BnTeT (8k)
  • autimatic (9k)
  • koosta (7.4k)
