Five Injured Players to Stash in Fantasy Baseball - Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 11 (2025)

Dylan Crews - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Prospects, Draft Sleepers

Kipp highlights five injured fantasy baseball players worth stashing in redraft leagues, as of June 6, 2025 (Week 11). His waiver wire pickups for IL players.

We've got another edition of the Injured Players to Stash in Fantasy Baseball series for Week 11 as we continue the 2025 season. Today's article examines injured players, including Dylan Crews, Ryan Mountcastle, and Daulton Varsho, among others.

With the 2025 fantasy baseball season well underway, several injured players who are out there have low roster percentages and may be available on your league's waiver wires. These players can provide significant value to fantasy managers, especially if they have an IL spot available on their roster.

This article will be featured weekly with updated players for fantasy managers to consider picking up and stashing off the waiver wire. Without further ado, let's look at what Week 11 of the fantasy baseball season has to offer.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Luke Weaver, RP, New York Yankees

Rostered: 58% Yahoo
Estimated Return: Late July

2025 Stats: 1.05 ERA/24 K/7 BB/8 SV/25 2/3 IP

Luke Weaver went on the IL with a hamstring strain and is expected to be out for four to six weeks. This is the precise time to add Weaver as his roster share has dropped to 58% given this news. It is not every day you will have the opportunity to grab the Yankees' closer off the wire.

Weaver has been solid the previous two seasons, racking up a combined 127 strikeouts across 109 2/3 innings pitched and posting an ERA below 2.5.

Weaver was anointed the Yankees' closer recently and has already racked up eight saves this season while posting an ERA of 1.05 and just a .70 WHIP. He should certainly be added in any leagues where he may have been dropped and in any league where you have a free IL spot.

Shane Bieber, SP, Cleveland Guardians

Rostered: 26% Yahoo
Estimated Return: Early July

2023 Stats: 3.80 ERA/107 K/10 BB/128 IP

You already knew Shane Bieber would make another appearance in this article since his roster share is still sitting at just 36%. Honestly, this is quite astonishing given his recent progress in his return from Tommy John surgery.

Bieber most recently made a rehab start in the Arizona Complex League, where he pitched 2 2/3 innings, striking out five batters. He is now slated to make a rehab start with Double-A Akron on Friday, the day this article is published. If he pitches well in that rehab start, his roster share should finally tick up. He is inching ever closer to a return.

The time to pick him up, quite honestly, should have passed by now. But here we are with an opportunity.

Bieber is a former Cy Young winner who is only 30 years old and has much to prove. This offseason, he signed a team-friendly deal that would allow him to rehab with the Guardians staff and build himself back up to snag a bigger deal on the free-agent market. Simply put, he will be motivated.

Dylan Crews, OF, Washington Nationals

Rostered: 66% Yahoo
Estimated Return: TBD

2025 Stats: .196/.266/.354/7 HRs/15 RBI/11 BB/11 SBs

This is a tough spot to write up Dylan Crews because he has so many things going against him, including a dreaded oblique strain with no timetable for return, and a season that saw him get off to a .197/.266/.354 clip. That being said, there is a ton of upside with an addition like Crews if you have an IL spot for him.

Despite Crews's awful start regarding his slash line, the metrics point to a hitter who has gotten a bit unlucky. He is posting a 90.1 mph average exit velocity, which ranks him in the 65th percentile, so we know he is hitting the ball hard. He has also posted a hard hit rate of 39.1%, which ranks him in the 88th percentile of the league.

In addition to the seven home runs he has hit this season, he has also swiped 11 bases. Upon his return, he should be able to provide managers with a solid combination of power and speed, and we should see some positive regression as well.

Ryan Mountcastle, 1B, Baltimore Orioles

Rostered: 28% Yahoo
Estimated Return: Mid-June

2025 Stats: .246/.280/.348/2 HR/15 RBI/8 BB

I will not take up a lot of the community's time with Ryan Mountcastle, as he is sort of a one-trick pony. Don't get me wrong, that one trick is pretty solid, and he does have some value on certain rosters. Plus, this is a hamstring injury that does not sound too bad, so he should be on your active roster in the near term.

Back to the stat at hand. Mountcastle has posted a .304 AVG and .866 OPS vs. left-handers since 2023. He has also mashed 33 total home runs across that same span. He is a solid addition if you can afford to platoon him. He, unfortunately, plays the wrong side of the platoon, but he can certainly help a lineup when facing a left-handed arm.

Daulton Varsho, OF, Toronto Blue Jays

Rostered: 10% Yahoo
Estimated Return: Mid-June

2025 stats: .207/.240/.543/8 HR/20 RBI/1 SB

Varsho has found himself on the IL once again this season. However, he has a grade-1 hamstring strain and is considered week-to-week. In between IL stints, Varsho managed to mash eight home runs and drive in 20 runs across just 100 plate appearances. Not too shabby.

The metrics have been solid as he has posted a 35.9% hard hit rate, which ranks in the 73rd percentile of the league. He has performed surprisingly well against right-handed pitching this season, as noted by his .925 OPS. This is atypical of Varsho, as he is typically known for hitting left-handers harder. This could be a new approach and makes him more valuable than he otherwise could have been.

Snag Varsho if you need an extra outfielder and have the roster construction to allow him to enter your roster.
