The Cut List (Week 10): Players To Consider Cutting Bait On

Welcome to Week 10's edition of The Cut List, RotoBaller's weekly column filled with advice on who is fat to be trimmed from your roster and who deserves a little more time on your plate. Each player receives both statistical and social media analysis, providing both real and ridiculous reasons why we--Tony Peters and Ben Hamren of the All Stats A Salad weekly fantasy football podcast--feel the way we do. The season's chalk full of angst and anxiety, let us take you beyond the stats to tickle your funny bone and your brain.

All ownership rates are taken from Fleaflicker and opponent ranks are based on the last four weeks. Be sure to check our Week 10 (NSFW) episodes of the All Stats A Salad podcast--out every Wednesday and Friday--by clicking here.

Editor's Note: Once you're done here, be sure to read about even more Week 10 waiver wire recommendations, for all fantasy-relevant positions. Just click on any link: ALL - RB - WR - TE - QB - DEF - FAAB

Week 10 Players to Consider Cutting or Replacing

DeSean Jackson (WR, WAS) - 66% Owned

WK9: Bye
WK7-WK9: 8-of-15 for 83 yards, no TD (includes bye)
WK10 Opponent: Vikings (30th in points allowed to WR)

TONY: If you weren't one of the many who already cut bait on wide receiver DeSean Jackson during the Redskins' Week 9 bye, don't let his return to play stop you from joining suit if you play in 10-and-12-team standard scoring leagues. On paper, he's on pace for over 800 yards and two touchdowns, but he's only caught 16 balls for 178 yards and no touchdowns since Week 3. Oops. Despite past success against the Vikings, don't expect much from him Week 10 in what is the first of many tough matchups in Jackson's near future.

All stats a salad...Jackson shouldn't just be dropped for a poor on-the-field performance but also for this horrible video he posted on his Instagram account last week. In it, he fails miserably at trying to film his own music video while driving. The only thing missing is him crashing into another car because he's too distracted filming himself.

Matt Asiata (RB, MIN) - 60% Owned

WK9: nine rushes for 27 yards, zero TD; 2-of-2 for 14 yards, zero TD
WK7-WK9: 35 rushes for 124 yards, zero TD; 10-of-15 for 75 yards, zero TD
WK10: Redskins (20th in points allowed to RBs)

BEN: Remember what I said about running back Jerick McKinnon not really being worth it? Well, that works for fellow Vikings' back Matt Asiata now too. Head coach Norv Turner said deuces to this offense and took his talents to his couch instead of dealing with these dudes anymore. Asiata is not a lead back, he is merely a warm body with a great smile until Adrian Peterson's super-human healing factor lets him back on the field. Minnesota has been bad at running all year, and now their line has allowed the offense to be bad at every aspect of moving the ball. Cut in all formats up to 12 teams unless prospects are that dire on the waiver wire.

All stats a salad...Asiata went to college at Utah and is more of a ghost on social media than he is a fantasy threat. Boom! So instead, I will use this time to give a shout out to Prince, RIP. Let us gaze upon what is possibly the best halftime show ever and try not to focus on how this only loosely connects to football and Minnesota.

Jacquizz Rodgers (RB, TB) - 64% Owned

WK9: DNP
WK7-WK9: 45 rushes for 223 yards, one TD; 2-of-2 for 18 yards, zero TD
WK10 Opponent: Bears (32th in points allowed to RB)

TONY: Despite looking like a legit fantasy monster more often than not the past few weeks, running back Jacquizz Rodgers has two things working against him going forward: he's hurt and starter Doug Martin's close to returning. Still in a walking boot Monday, Jacquizz doesn't appear to be on-track to practice this week, let alone play. Martin also hasn't practiced yet this week but the team is hopeful he'll return Sunday or the following week. Throw in a brutal schedule the next three games and Rodgers, even if he does start, is likely to bring the pain...right into his owners' hearts. If he can't be stashed, he's droppable in 10-and-12-team leagues.

All stats a salad...Rodgers has been fairly quiet on social media since the end of October, likely due to the Bucs not tasting victory since Week 7. But while still riding that win high, he posted a video on Twitter that he said represented his feelings about said win. Fantasy owners felt the same way about him, giving them many a reason to let him go before those memories turn sour.

Rashad Jennings (RB, NYG) - 71% Owned

WK9: 11 rushes for 26 yards, zero TD; 3-of-3 for 13 yards, zero TD
WK7-WK9: 24 rushes for 51 yards, one TD; 5-of-6 for 37 yards, zero TD (includes bye)
WK10: Bengals (4th in points allowed to RBs)

BEN: To be fair, when looking at running back Rashad Jennings' sad numbers for the past three weeks, it includes a bye week. But he belongs to a Giants' team that lives and dies on whether or not quarterback Eli Manning can limit the amount of passes he throws to the wrong team. To make matters worse, rookie Paul Perkins put him in a timeshare Week 9 and push Bobby Rainey down the depth chart, Jennings is on his way to simply being a side note. He's a straight cut in 10-and-12-team leagues right now, with the rest likely to follow sooner rather than later.

All stats a salad...mother of god, what am I looking at? Terrible puns, Halloween match-making and a costume that hurts the eyes, that's what. Did Cam Newton give this outfit to Jennings? I don't have words to describe what I'm feeling right now. Luckily, Jennings provided another tweet that sums it all up.

Jack Doyle (TE, IND) - 58% Owned

WK9: 5-of-9 for 61 yards, zero TD
WK7-WK9: 16-of-22 for 175 yards, one TD
WK10 Opponent: Bye

TONY: Much like Rodgers above, tight end Jack Doyle is seeing the man he replaced in the lineup, Dwayne Allen, return from injury and push him back out of the spotlight. While Doyle is obviously the team's future at the position and has earned himself a continued role this season, there's simply no indication at this point that Allen has lost his top dog spot. Doyle's cuttable in 10-and-12 team leagues, especially if the 31% owned Allen is still available in your league.

All stats a salad...Doyle might not have a social media footmark for me to exploit, but thank goodness one of his teammates saved the day. Colts' punter Pat McAfee was asked in an interview a little over a week ago about a "Jack Does Everything" t-shirt he was wearing, which he shared was to celebrate Doyle's abilities to "score, catch, rush and block." McAfee also casually dropped the bombshell that Doyle is the "Chuck Norris of the NFL"--yes, that is a direct quote--so I expect Doyle be a fantasy favorite once Allen is out of the picture.

Hot Seat - Sending Warning Signals

Kyle Rudolph (TE, MIN) - 84% Owned

WK9: 1-of-3 for one yard, one TD
WK7-WK9: 11-of-20 for 87 yards, one TD
WK10 Opponent: Redskins (10th in points allowed to TE)

TONY: After starting out the season blistering hot, catching three touchdowns in the first four games, tight end Kyle Rudolph has been bringing home a light bag of points every week. In the four games the Vikings have played since then (including their Week 6 bye), he's caught 13-of-24 targets for 102 yards and a single touchdown. After Rudolph mostly failed last week against a Lions' team giving up comes the most points to tight ends this year, he needs to produce now or 10-team leagues can start looking elsewhere.

All stats a salad...don't expect Rudolph to be all that productive if he goes hard in the paint when he laces up his skates and hits the ice with the NHL's Minnesota Wild. He's a big dude, but the glass plays no favorites. All those smashed against it receive the same treatment: pain. This is a situation worth monitoring.

Stash and Pray

Demaryius Thomas (WR, DEN) - 100% Owned & Emmanuel Sanders (WR, DEN) - 97% Owned

WK9: DT 5-of-10 for 56 yards, zero TD. ES 5-of-11 for 47 yards, zero TD
WK7-WK9: DT 16-of-30 for 175 yards, one TD. ES 13-of-29 for 201 yards, zero TD
WK10: Saints (24th in points allowed to WR)

BEN: In my latest installment of tragically not utilized elite talent receivers, we chronicle the sad tale of Denver twin towers of wide receiving: Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. Both men knew the glory of a Peyton Manning pass once upon a time, with Sanders even leaving "Big Ben" to venture to Mile High and form a tandem of receiving gods! If either of these guys could say that their 2016 included two games with over 100 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, there wouldn't be this entry. But that's them combined. Obvi, you have to keep these dudes but its time to be realistic. This is a good matchup against the Saints, but this offense is straight Katy Perry.

All stats a salad...while I like both of these guys, Sanders has a better Twitter with all his fan interaction and positivity. Thomas' has too many product placements. But these two aren't just primed for the NFL spotlight, they have their sights set higher: divas! The two even have dibs on what diva type they are. Spoilers: Thomas is country and Sanders is Hollywood. Which are you more of?
