Dave's fantasy football start 'em and sit 'em booms and busts for Week 11 of 2025. Sneaky starts that may boom, and typical starters who will disappoint.

Well, every now and then, you have a week where it seems like nothing goes your way. That certainly was the case in this column last week. Jordan Addison was our Sonic Boom, and he only caught three passes for 35 yards. Our Landmine of the Week was Breece Hall, and he popped for a surprisingly strong game against the Cleveland Browns' stout run defense. Hall ran for 83 rushing yards and caught a 41-yard touchdown pass. Obviously, we’d like to have these calls back, but that's just the way it goes sometimes.

While we got those calls wrong, we did correctly identify Jameson Williams as a boom (finally), as well as New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart. We also nailed a few other bust picks by recommending gamers fade Trevor Lawrence, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, and Josh Downs. At least it wasn’t all bad, and we didn’t pull a move like the Buffalo Bills did by completely falling on their face against the Miami Dolphins. Only four weeks remain until the start of the fantasy football playoffs. Managers are quickly running out of time to secure a playoff berth. So, let’s get to the action and see who's primed for a big week and who’s set to flop.

Sonic Boom of the Week

Chris Rodriguez Jr. - RB, Washington Commanders at Miami Dolphins

Before injuring his shoulder, Rodriguez was functioning as the Commanders’ RB1 in Week 10. He’s been cleared for action in Week 11, and Rodriguez draws a fantastic matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

Miami’s rush defense has been one of the worst in the league this year. The Dolphins allow 139.7 rushing yards per game, which is the seventh-most in the NFL. Miami has also allowed the eighth-most PPR points per game to opposing backs this year, per Fantasy Football Today. Its defense played very well against the Buffalo Bills last weekend. However, that is likely more of a mirage than a new reality.

Washington’s offense is banged up, but this is a winnable game. The team will likely rely on its ground attack to remain competitive here. This is a great spot for the Commanders to end their five-game losing streak and pick up a win. If they do, Rodriguez will likely be a large reason why. Start him as a backend RB2 or flex play.

Other Week 11 Fantasy Football Booms

Khalil Shakir - WR, Buffalo Bills vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Shakir has yet to crack 100 receiving yards in a game this year and has only posted two top-24 finishes in PPR leagues. However, this could be a spot where Shakir explodes.

The Buccaneers boast one of the best run defenses in the NFL and are looking to bounce back after TreVeyon Henderson gashed them for 147 rushing yards and two touchdowns last week. After watching Buffalo’s run game struggle against the Miami Dolphins last weekend, they could have a hard time gaining traction again this weekend against a Buccaneers unit that ranks fourth in FTN Fantasy's defensive rushing DVOA.

That would mean the best way for Buffalo to move the football would be through the arm of quarterback Josh Allen. It wouldn’t be the worst game plan, as Tampa Bay has allowed the ninth-most passing yards per game in 2025. This game could easily morph into a high-scoring affair. That would certainly help Shakir’s outlook.

Tampa Bay head coach Todd Bowles is also known for his aggressive, blitzing defenses. Shakir could very well be Buffalo’s counter to this attack, and we could see him targeted on some screens as well as in the short/intermediate areas of the field. Start him as a WR3 or flex with a boost in full PPR leagues.

Rachaad White - RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Buffalo Bills

Bucky Irving returned to Buccaneers practice in a limited fashion the last two days. We'll see if he suits up, but if he doesn't, this is a great spot to play White.

The Bills' defense was just gashed by De’Von Achane for 174 rushing yards in Week 10. This has been a recurring problem for Buffalo all season, as the team ranks 30th in defensive rushing DVOA. Buffalo also allows 147.6 rushing yards per game, and that mark is the third most in the league. The Bills have also been prone to allowing chunk plays on the ground and have allowed the third-most-explosive rushing yards in the league per Fantasy Points Data Suite.

White is not a good back. We have several years of data to support this claim. However, he can be an effective fantasy option thanks to sheer volume, and the Buccaneers' coaching staff has shown they have zero issues giving him a full workload.

After seeing the success the Miami Dolphins had on the ground against Buffalo last week, Tampa Bay will likely attempt to repeat this formula, especially since they are still missing several of their top pass-catchers. If RB1 Bucky Irving remains sidelined this week, then White would be a rock-solid RB2 play who could finish Week 11 as an RB1. The matchup here is too good to ignore.

Aaron Rodgers - QB, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Rodgers did not play well last week against the Los Angeles Chargers. However, he has a perfect get-right spot in front of him this weekend.

Pittsburgh hosts the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11. The Bengals' defense has arguably been the worst in the NFL this year. Rodgers threw for 249 passing yards and four touchdowns when these two teams met back in Week 7.

With Trey Hendrickson likely to miss this game, Rodgers should have plenty of time in the pocket to find receivers open downfield. Start him as a QB2 in superflex leagues, and he is a viable streamer in single quarterback leagues, too.

Theo Johnson - TE, New York Giants vs. Green Bay Packers

Johnson has emerged as one of the Giants' top pass-catchers in recent weeks. He’s seen at least six targets in four of the last six games and is coming off a PPR TE7 finish in Week 10.

The Packers' defense has been very good this year, but they have allowed their fair share of fantasy points to opposing tight ends. Green Bay has allowed the 12th-most PPR points per game to opposing tight ends so far in 2025.

New York’s move to Jameis Winston should mean good things for this passing game as opposed to Russell Wilson. Winston’s presence should also help raise Johnson’s floor.

If you need a bye-week filler or you’ve been streaming tight ends, Johnson is a viable starter for this weekend.

Landmine of the Week

Kyren Williams - RB, Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks

Williams is coming off a two-touchdown performance against the San Francisco 49ers last week, where he finished as the overall PPR RB5.

However, he also played a season-low 58% of offensive snaps and split carries right down the middle with Blake Corum. This marked the third straight game that Corum has seen double-digit carries. It seems the Rams coaching staff has made it clear they want to give Corum more work and possibly lighten Williams’ workload in the process.

That could prove to be an issue this weekend, as the Seahawks’ defense has been very good at limiting opposing ground attacks. Seattle ranks second in defensive rushing DVOA, fifth in PFF rushing defense grade, and has allowed the third-fewest rushing yards per game in the NFL. This is a tough matchup for Williams. If we combine that with the possibility he could be splitting carries with Corum, then Williams becomes more of a touchdown-dependent, boom/bust RB2.

If you drafted Williams early, you may not be in a position to sit him. If you have other options available, though, you may want to consider leaving Williams on the bench here. Proceed with caution this weekend.

Other Week 11 Fantasy Football Busts

Parker Washington - WR, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Washington finished Week 10 with a 3-33-1 line on seven targets and finished as the overall PPR WR15.

That touchdown saved his fantasy day, though, and without it, Washington would have been a real disappointment. He draws another tough matchup this week as the Chargers rank seventh in defensive passing DVOA and have allowed the fewest PPR points per game to opposing wide receivers this season.

Newly acquired veteran Jakobi Meyers will also be further acclimated to Jacksonville’s offense, and we could see his role increase. If so, it would come at the expense of Washington. WR1 Brian Thomas Jr. might also return from an ankle injury, and that would also lower Washington's ceiling.

Quite a few factors are working against him this week, and that probably means gamers should leave Washington on their bench.

Kenneth Walker III - RB, Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams

After it looked like Walker might be chipping away at Zach Charbonnet for lead-back and goal-line duties in Week 9, Walker took a step backward in Week 10. He still split carries with Charbonnet and failed to score a touchdown for the sixth straight game.

Now Walker faces a Rams defense that ranks second in PFF’s run defense grade and has allowed the second-fewest PPR points per game to opposing running backs. Seattle’s ground game could struggle here, and that would be bad news for Walker since he’s stuck in a timeshare.

Throw in the fact that Charbonnet is still the team’s preferred goal-line back, and this doesn’t look like the best matchup to start Walker.
