Ohio State Ranked No. 1 in Preseason Coaches Poll
Ohio State is ranked as the No. 1 team in the country in the preseason coaches' poll via USA Today. The Buckeyes saw 11 players selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, headlined by Carnell Tate, Arvell Reese, Sonny Styles, and Caleb Downs in the top half of the first round. However, Ryan Day's program is never hurting on talent, and the team brings back starting quarterback Julian Sayin, star wideout Jeremiah Smith, and several other preseason All-Big Ten selections. The Buckeyes finished last season with an undefeated regular-season record before dropping games against Indiana in the Big Ten Championship and Miami in the second round of the College Football Playoff. Its 2026 schedule is loaded with difficult matchups, including games against No. 2 Oregon, No. 4 Texas, No. 6 Indiana, and No. 14 USC.
