Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is putting together a historic season so far in 2025. Through eight games, Taylor has rushed for 850 yards and 12 touchdowns while adding two receiving touchdowns for the Colts. The best player in fantasy over the first half of the season, Taylor has scored exactly three touchdowns in a game four times so far this season, with the most recent instance coming in a Week 8 win over the Tennessee Titans. He will look to keep it going in a road matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9. The Steelers have been solid against the run this season, allowing just the 22nd-most fantasy points per game to the running-back position through seven games. Despite the tougher matchup, Taylor remains a top-three fantasy running back in Week 9.--Matt Terelle

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has been one of the best storylines this season, completing more than 75 percent of his passes for 2,026 yards, 15 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also has 250 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The UNC product has taken an extraordinary leap in his second pro season, leading the Patriots to a 6-2 record while entering his name into the MVP race. From a fantasy perspective, Maye is the overall QB2 and has established himself as a must-start player every week, regardless of matchup. That remains the case in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons. Even though Atlanta has allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, Maye should capitalize on a home matchup against a struggling Falcons squad. After all, Atlanta surrendered four touchdowns to Tua Tagovailoa last week. Maye is a strong, mid-range QB1 option once again.--Andersen Pickard

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones continued his bid for comeback player of the year in a Week 8 win over the Tennessee Titans. Jones completed 21 of 29 passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns in the 38-14 win. Jones has now thrown for 2,062 yards, 13 touchdowns, and three interceptions while adding four rushing touchdowns for the Colts this season. The veteran quarterback will look to keep it going in a Week 9 road matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh's defense has really struggled against the pass this season, allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to the quarterback position in seven games. Jones remains a mid-range QB1 in fantasy and should be locked into starting lineups in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 9.--Matt Terelle

Chicago Bears rookie running back Kyle Monangai is in to handle the bulk of the carries with starter D'Andre Swift (groin) ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The rookie out of Rutgers has seen his workload increase over the last few weeks in a complementary role to Swift, but now should be expected to see the most touches of his young career. Fantasy managers who have been holding Monangai this season have been waiting for an opportunity to plug-and-play him as an RB2, and the matchup doesn't get much better in Week 9 against a porous Bengals defense. In Monangai's only game with 10 or more touches this season, he produced 94 total yards and a touchdown on 15 touches in Week 7 against the Saints. Monangai profiles as a borderline RB1 in Week 9, ranking as RotoBaller's RB13 in PPR leagues.--Kyle McCarthy

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams could be poised for a strong game in Week 9 against a Cincinnati Bengals defense that has allowed the second-most passing yards in the league, only behind the Dallas Cowboys. Williams wasn't bad in Chicago's Week 8 loss at Baltimore, completing 25 of his 38 pass attempts for 285 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. However, since his four-touchdown outburst against the Cowboys in Week 3, he's completed 60.8% of his passes while averaging 230 passing yards to go with three total touchdowns and two interceptions. The 23-year-old has still been solid for fantasy purposes, ranking as QB15 in points per game, and gets a pristine matchup in Cincinnati on Sunday. Williams is ranked as RotoBaller's QB9 for Week 9.--Kyle McCarthy

Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little is a borderline starter in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Jaguars offense is a bit banged up despite the bye week last week, meaning there is a chance for some struggles. However, the Raiders defense is one of the weakest in the NFL, meaning the Jaguars should have no trouble moving the ball. As long as the offense can refrain from turning the ball over, Little should get some field goal opportunities. Worst-case scenario, the Jaguars mainly score touchdowns, and Little doesn’t get the opportunity to show off his big leg. Little is a solid starting option in a Week 9 trip to Vegas.--Seth Quinn - RotoBaller

The Jacksonville Jaguars defense/special teams unit serves as a good streaming option in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Geno Smith and the Raiders offense have been turnover prone, and the Jaguars have been good at forcing turnovers. They currently sit at second in the league in turnovers forced with 14 despite being on bye last week. The Raiders are tied for third in the NFL in total giveaways despite also having a bye week, making them a good match for fantasy. The Jaguars D/ST started strong in fantasy then tailed off, but in a Week 9 trip to Vegas, fantasy managers should be happy to start them.--Seth Quinn - RotoBaller

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Bhayshul Tuten should remain a backup against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 9 but has a chance for more involvement in the pass game. The Raiders defense is leaky overall, but especially against the pass, meaning the Jaguars could pass early and often. That might mean higher pace, and more opportunities for the rookie back to get on the field. He could also receive more looks due to rookie receiver Travis Hunter (knee) being placed on IR. Tuten’s value remains more as a handcuff, but in a week with plenty of good players on bye, desperate managers should at least consider putting Tuten into lineups. The rookie running back is probably touchdown-or-bust, but anything is possible in Vegas coming out of a bye.--Seth Quinn - RotoBaller

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dyami Brown (shoulder) should be in line for more volume despite dealing with a lingering injury against the Las Vegas Raiders. He was able to practice fully on Thursday and Friday, so it seems he used the bye week well to get healthier. With rookie receiver Travis Hunter (knee) on IR, Brown will be competing with Parker Washington for the second passing option in the Jaguars offense. Brown’s season high in yardage is 57 yards, so it’s hard to have high expectations, but with multiple injuries and a potentially new game plan coming out of the bye week, Brown could take advantage and play like he’s fully healthy once again. Fantasy managers can do worse than Brown in Week 9 in Vegas.--Seth Quinn - RotoBaller

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington has a chance for increased volume coming out of the bye in Week 9. The Las Vegas Raiders are a weaker defense, especially against the pass, meaning the game plan should be to pass early to build up a lead. With rookie receiver Travis Hunter (knee) on IR, Washington has a chance to step up as the number two passing option in the Jaguars offense.  That is especially true with fellow pass catchers Brenton Strange on IR still, and Dyami Brown dealing with a lingering shoulder injury. Washington has been far from consistent, (season-high of five catches for 76 yards) but that could change moving forward, starting with a trip to Vegas.--Seth Quinn - RotoBaller

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (shoulder) has a chance for more volume, and therefore, more upside in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders. He was limited at practice all week but has no injury designation. With rookie receiver Travis Hunter (knee) placed on IR, BTJ now stands out as the clear alpha receiver for the Jaguars offense. He was already expected to be coming into the season but hasn’t quite churned out the greatest results, but improved health and extra time to game plan could mean a better statistical output for the young receiver. Brian Thomas Jr. remains a WR2 for now, but has the upside, especially against a weak Raiders pass defense, to produce WR1 numbers and come out firing after the bye.--Seth Quinn - RotoBaller

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. has a chance for more involvement in the gameplan this week against the Las Vegas Raiders, making him a solid RB2. Etienne Jr. has gotten inconsistent volume as of late, and with the Raiders being better against the run than the pass, that might continue in Week 9. However, with rookie receiver Travis Hunter (knee) placed on IR, that could mean more work in the receiving game for former Clemson back. Etienne Jr. still has to compete somewhat with other rookie Bhayshul Tuten for backfield touches, but for now, his baseline volume is worth trusting. Etienne Jr. is a fine start for fantasy managers in Vegas.--Seth Quinn - RotoBaller

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence should serve as a solid QB2 in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders defense hasn’t been the best overall this season but is even weaker against the pass than the run, so the Jaguars game plan should be to throw the ball early and try to mount a quick lead. That will be slightly more difficult with rookie receiver Travis Hunter (knee) being placed on IR, but the Raiders offense may also be prone to turnovers and help out from a field position perspective. In what seems to be a mismatch on paper, Lawrence should be in for a solid fantasy day in Week 9 in Vegas.--Seth Quinn - RotoBaller

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro has played his way into being one of the more valuable kickers in fantasy football in 2025. Unsigned until the 49ers brought him in to replace the erratic Jake Moody after Week 1, Pineiro ranks fifth in both total fantasy points and fantasy points per game. In last week's slog against the Houston Texans, Pineiro's only opportunity was a single extra point try, which he converted. On the season, he is 10-for-11 on extra points and a perfect 17-for-17 on field goal attempts. In Week 9, the 49ers square off against the New York Giants, who have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points per game to opposing kickers. Pineiro is a relatively safe bet for fantasy production out of the kicker slot and can be included in starting lineups in Week 9.--Dan Stephens

The San Francisco 49ers' defense has been plagued by injuries all season. Edge rusher Nick Bosa (knee) tore his ACL in Week 3. Fred Warner suffered a dislocated and fractured ankle in Week 6. In Week 9, four defensive linemen have been declared out or questionable, thinning the team's depth up front. Linebacker Dee Winters (knee) is also questionable, as is defensive back Deommodore Lewis (quadriceps), whose interception in Week 8 was the team's first since Week 11 of 2024. San Francisco's D/ST has been able to limit scoring here and there, but its inability to force turnovers (0.8 per game) and sacks (1.1 per game) curtails the unit's fantasy value. It will be a risky start in Week 9 against a New York Giants offense that has averaged 28.3 points per game over the last three weeks.--Dan Stephens
