Washington Commanders rookie running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt (mouth) was wearing a non-contact jersey on Wednesday and was listed as a limited practice participant after having dental work done, according to John Keim of ESPN. Croskey-Merritt should be available to play on Sunday against the visiting Detroit Lions, but the better question is whether he'll lose any playing time to Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez Jr. after stumbling the last few weeks. The 24-year-old seventh-rounder has been the team's lead back since Austin Ekeler suffered a season-ending Achilles tear in Week 2, but Bill hasn't scored since Oct. 5 and is averaging just 3.1 yards per carry for 157 yards on 51 rushing attempts in the last four games. Expect defenses to load the box more to stop the run against Washington now, with quarterback Jayden Daniels (elbow) out for the foreseeable future. JCM is trending down as an RB3/flex play heading into this weekend.--Keith Hernandez

Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb (foot) was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice due to a foot injury, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Sports. The Texans have already ruled out quarterback C.J. Stroud (concussion) for their Week 10 game against the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, and the veteran Chubb could also be in danger of sitting out this weekend unless he returns to practice on Thursday or Friday. If the 29-year-old is limited or out against the Jaguars, rookie Woody Marks would be in line for a bigger workload, while Dare Ogunbowale would likely be elevated to RB2 duties. Chubb has mostly been underwhelming in his first year with the Texans as their primary back, with Joe Mixon (ankle, foot) still out, as he's averaged 3.9 yards per carry for 355 rushing yards and only two rushing scores in eight games.--Keith Hernandez

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift (groin), who was limited in practice on Wednesday, said he plans to play on Sunday in Week 10 versus the visiting New York Giants, according to Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times. Swift missed the wild win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 9 due to a chronic groin injury. In his absence, rookie Kyle Monangai impressed, taking 26 carries for 176 yards. Head coach Ben Johnson said the Bears were protecting Swift from himself by letting him rest a groin injury that he's been dealing with for the past month. Monangai was also limited in Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury, while Roschon Johnson was limited in his return from a back injury. Swift's RB1 job in Chicago shouldn't be in jeopardy, but if he does return this weekend against New York, he could cede a few more backfield touches to Monangai.--Keith Hernandez

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Wednesday that he's "pretty confident" that wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (knee) will play at some point this season, according to David Lombardi of The San Francisco Standard. However, the 49ers are still waiting for Aiyuk to "hit certain markers" on GPS speed measurements before opening his 21-day practice window. Once Aiyuk returns to practice, the team will have 21 days to officially activate him from the Physically Unable to Perform list. Despite the optimism, reports on Monday suggested that the 27-year-old former first-rounder wasn't close to a return to practice, so fantasy managers who have been stashing Aiyuk all year shouldn't get their hopes up. Aiyuk suffered a torn ACL and MCL in Week 7 of last year and probably won't be back in games for the 49ers until December.--Keith Hernandez

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) will be limited in the first practice of the week on Thursday, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. Purdy has only played in two games this year and not since aggravating a turf-toe injury in the Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. While the 25-year-old signal-caller has made progress, he has yet to upgrade to a full practice, which will be required of him before he's cleared to start again. It puts his status firmly up in the air for another week for the Week 10 divisional clash against the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday. The good news is that the 49ers plan for Purdy to take on more first-team reps in practice this week, which could mean that he's on the cusp of making his return. If Purdy is unable to gain clearance to play against the Rams, Mac Jones will make his eighth start of the year. We should have more clarity on the situation later in the week.--Keith Hernandez

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee) will not practice on Wednesday, per Matt Barrows of The Athletic. Pearsall has not practiced or played since spraining his PCL in the Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he doesn't appear to be on track to make his long-awaited return this weekend for the divisional battle against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday in Week 10. The 25-year-old former first-rounder is still rostered in 77% of Yahoo leagues, but he's running out of time to make an impact this year for his fantasy managers. And at this point, it's fair to wonder if even Brandon Aiyuk (knee) will be back with the Niners before Pearsall. In his four games played in 2025, Pearsall has 20 receptions for 327 yards and no touchdowns. If Pearsall can't return this weekend, his next chance to play will come in Week 11 for another divisional affair against the Arizona Cardinals.--Keith Hernandez

Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones Sr. (shoulder, toe) is dealing with multiple injuries and was unable to practice on Wednesday. In addition to an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder that he suffered in the Week 9 win against the Detroit Lions, Jones is dealing with a toe issue that leaves his availability up in the air for this Sunday's home tilt versus the visiting Baltimore Ravens. The 30-year-old veteran is truly questionable as of right now, and he'll likely need to get back on the practice field on either Thursday or Friday to avoid being ruled out in Week 10. If Jones is limited at all or out entirely this weekend, Jordan Mason would see the lion's share of backfield work and would elevate to RB2 status in fantasy football. Jones has only played in four games so far in 2025 due to injuries and has yet to find the end zone as a runner, although he is averaging 5.1 yards per carry on his 27 rushing attempts.--Keith Hernandez

Despite being listed as limited in practice on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Denver Broncos have ruled out wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (concussion) for a second straight game for the Week 10 matchup against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football. Mims suffered a concussion in the Week 8 win over the Dallas Cowboys and was unable to play in Sunday's victory over the Houston Texans. He'll miss his second straight game, but hopefully he'll clear the league's concussion protocol in time to suit up for a crucial divisional contest next week against the Kansas City Chiefs. With the 23-year-old sidelined again, Troy Franklin and rookie Pat Bryant will once again have additional opportunities to make noise in the passing attack in a plus matchup behind WR1 Courtland Sutton. Tight end Evan Engram should also bounce back after posting a donut last week.--Keith Hernandez

Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins (shoulder) practiced in full on Wednesday and is not on the Week 10 injury report as the team begins preparing to face the New York Jets on Sunday. Judkins was forced from the Week 8 loss to the New England Patriots early with a shoulder injury, but the 22-year-old Ohio State product benefited from last week's bye. He doesn't come in with an injury status this week and should be all systems go as Cleveland's unquestioned lead back against the 1-7 Jets this weekend. Against a New York defense that just traded away star cornerback Sauce Gardner and defensive lineman Quinnen Williams, Judkins will be an absolute must-start in his return. Judkins has looked strong in his first seven NFL games with the Browns, carrying the ball 118 times for 486 yards and five touchdowns while adding 60 receiving yards on 12 receptions.--Keith Hernandez

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters on Wednesday that wide receiver Puka Nacua (rib) "should be good to play" on Sunday in a big divisional matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10 despite injuring his rib in the Week 9 win over the New Orleans Saints, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Nacua injured his ribs last weekend, but X-rays came back negative, and he's expected to be available to take on the Niners this weekend. If the 24-year-old third-year pass-catcher is active for Week 10, he'll be a must-start in all fantasy lineups. Nacua continues to be one of the most dynamic wideouts in the NFL, and he enters Week 10 action with 61 catches on a league-high 73 targets for 711 yards and three touchdowns across seven starts. In the overtime loss to San Fran on Oct. 2, Nacua had 10 grabs on 12 targets for 85 yards and a touchdown. UPDATE: Nacua was limited in practice on Wednesday.--Keith Hernandez

According to Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic, Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon did not make it sound likely that running back Trey Benson (knee) would return from Injured Reserve to play in Week 10 against the division-rival Seattle Seahawks this Sunday. "He's doing well. Take it day by day there. He's not gonna be out there today, but he is doing better. What does close mean? I don't know what close means. Take it day by day," Gannon said. The 23-year-old is not practicing on Wednesday, and the Cardinals have yet to open his 21-day practice window to return from IR. Benson is making progress after having arthroscopic surgery on his meniscus, but it sounds like he won't play this weekend. Benson should be stashed in all fantasy formats, as he will be the team's RB1 when he's healthy. In the meantime, Arizona will continue to mix and match in their backfield with Bam Knight, Emari Demercado, and Michael Carter. It's not an ideal situation for fantasy managers.--Keith Hernandez

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (glute) was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice due to a glute injury. It's a new injury for Pittman, so his status bears watching as the week unfolds with a Week 10 game upcoming on Sunday in Berlin, Germany, against the Atlanta Falcons. The 28-year-old didn't show any signs of being injured in the Week 9 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, catching nine of his 12 targets for a season-best 115 yards while playing 88% of the offensive snaps. If Pittman can get back on the field on either Thursday or Friday, he should have a good shot at playing this weekend in Europe. The 28-year-old has shown strong chemistry with quarterback Daniel Jones this year and enters Week 10 as the WR11 in half-PPR scoring by averaging 13.1 points per game. If Pittman cannot play this weekend, Josh Downs and Alec Pierce would see more targets in the passing game.--Keith Hernandez

Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III (concussion) was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's practice. Burden missed Chicago's Week 9 matchup in Cincinnati due to a concussion suffered during their Week 8 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The 21-year-old missed every day in practice last week, but it's a positive sign to see him back without any restrictions to open the practice week ahead of their Week 10 matchup against the New York Giants. Burden has made plays in his limited opportunity this season, catching 13 of his 15 targets for 171 yards and a touchdown in seven games. Both Bears' top wideouts, Rome Odunze (heel, ankle) and D.J. Moore (hip, groin), also missed Wednesday's practice. If either or both are unable to go in Week 10, Burden would likely see an uptick in routes and targets.--Kyle McCarthy

Chicago Bears rookie running back Kyle Monangai (ankle) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice session. It's unclear when or how Monangai picked up the injury, but it will be one to monitor in the coming days. The rookie out of Rutgers put up a monstrous performance in his spot start for an injured D'Andre Swift (groin) in Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals, recording 198 total yards from scrimmage on 29 touches in a 47-42 win. Swift was also listed as limited in Wednesday's practice, potentially signaling that he will only miss one game. But Monangai certainly earned more reps with his standout game, as he led all running backs in Week 9 with +59 rushing yards over expectation, per NFL Pro. Both Bears' running backs' practice statuses will be worth watching over the next two days.--Kyle McCarthy

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift (groin) was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Swift missed his first game of the season in Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals, but is on the right track to return in Week 10. The 26-year-old has been a mainstay on the Bears' injury report since Week 7 with a nagging groin injury, and perhaps the week off will allow him to be healthier for the second half of the season. Rookie Kyle Monangai broke out in his absence, totaling 198 yards on 29 touches in Week 9. Chicago may lean on the rookie's bruising running style more to complement Swift in the future, but Swift was running really well when he was healthy, and Monangai was also limited in Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury. There's a good chance Swift only misses one game, and his status will be updated in the coming days.--Kyle McCarthy
