Top Dynasty Fantasy Football Tight Ends To Buy - 2025 Dynasty Trade Targets

Tucker Kraft - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Top dynasty fantasy football tight ends to target in trades - dynasty fantasy football trade analyzer. Buy these TEs ahead of the 2025 fantasy football season.

Did your dynasty team fail to live up to your hopes in 2024? Or did you win your league and now you want to make a big move to guarantee you're right there in the thick of the battle again in 2025 and beyond?

Well, let's talk about some moves you can make. Specifically, let's talk about tight ends that you should be targeting for your dynasty roster ahead of the 2025 season.

Below are five tight ends that fantasy managers should buy in dynasty leagues this offseason.

Sam LaPorta, TE, Detroit Lions

You never want to see a player go through a sophomore slump, but that does usually make the player more attainable in dynasty leagues.

Sam LaPorta made the Pro Bowl as a rookie in 2023, catching 86 of his 120 targets for 889 yards and 10 touchdowns. One year ago, there was a strong argument that LaPorta was the No. 1 dynasty tight end after that strong performance.

Then came a solid but unspectacular follow-up campaign. In 2024, LaPorta's numbers dropped across the board, down to 60 catches on 83 targets for 726 yards and seven touchdowns.

It wasn't a bad year; it just wasn't what fantasy managers who invested heavily in LaPorta wanted to see from the Lions tight end. LaPorta has now fallen to No. 3 in dynasty tight end rankings behind Brock Bowers and Trey McBride.

This might be your only window to buy low-ish on LaPorta. You're still going to have to give up a pretty penny to get him on your roster, but it's easier to trade for the No. 3 dynasty tight end than for the No. 1 dynasty tight end.

Tucker Kraft, TE, Green Bay Packers

Over the first nine weeks of the 2024 season, Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft finished as a top 12 fantasy tight end five times. After the team's bye, he hit the mark twice in eight games.

Kraft faded down the stretch, but the second-year tight end still made major strides from his rookie campaign, finishing with 50 catches for 707 yards and seven touchdowns.

There's something very intriguing about Kraft. He ranked fifth among tight ends in yards after the catch and third in yards per route run. When he gets the ball, good things happen.

The issue is just the nature of this Packers offense, which has so many mouths to feed, which is part of why Kraft ranked 17th at the position in targets despite ranking fourth among tight ends in snap share, per PlayerProfiler.

The argument for buying Kraft is that his numbers suggest he's a very good, athletic tight end. Over the next few years, the wide receiver position in Green Bay is likely to be in flux as the team tries to figure out what it's doing there. However, the tight end spot should be Kraft's alone going forward.

Chig Okonkwo, TE, Tennessee Titans

Were you waiting for the 2024 Chig Okonkwo breakout? So were a lot of people, but it just never happened. There were glimpses, but overall Okonkwo wasn't able to pull things together and have the kind of huge year that many fantasy experts predicted.

But after a strong run to end the 2024 season, there's hope that Okonkwo is set to have that breakout season in 2025.

Disregarding the final game of the year where an injured Okonkwo played just three snaps, the Titans tight end ended the year with three consecutive games with 40 or more yards. Okonkwo was targeted 28 times in those three games and averaged 7.3 catches for 60.7 yards.

There are some fairly compelling signs that the Okonkwo breakout is still coming, but it's just coming a year later than expected. It's also coming with Okonkwo being a good bit cheaper than he was last offseason. He is the TE26 in RotoBaller's current dynasty rankings.

Theo Johnson, TE, New York Giants

Going deeper in the dynasty rankings, we find New York Giants tight end Theo Johnson, the TE30 in RotoBaller's rankings.

As a rookie, Johnson played in 12 games, catching 29 passes for 331 yards and a touchdown. It was a solid debut in the NFL, but it was cut short by a broken foot.

However, in the four games leading up to the injury, Johnson was really hitting his stride. Over that span, Johnson averaged 5.8 targets, 3.8 receptions, and 45.3 receiving yards per game.

He also was the Giants' No. 1 tight end basically immediately, playing 86% of snaps in his NFL debut and never falling below a 71% snap share in any game.

Johnson is a great low-cost swing to make this offseason if you want a young tight end with upside. He might not hit, but you won't need to give up much to acquire the TE30.

Dalton Schultz, TE, Houston Texans

When talking about dynasty leagues, people tend to focus a little too much on the future. I mean, I get it — when you're playing in a league that you expect to exist for years, you want to build a sustainable contender.

But sometimes, you just need to focus on the next year, especially if you have a roster that's ready to win now. Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz won't help you win in 2028, but the TE31 in the RotoBaller rankings can be a productive piece of your 2025 roster.

Schultz had a bit of a down year, but so did the whole Texans offense, which regressed in the second season with Bobby Slowik as offensive coordinator. But Slowik is gone now, replaced by Nick Caley, who previously was the tight ends coach for the Rams.

Schultz's 2025 numbers could easily be in line with his 2023 numbers when he caught 59 passes for 635 yards and five touchdowns. That's not winning you a league, but Schultz is the perfect low-cost TE2 to grab. He's someone you can plug in in a pinch without having to worry that he tanks your lineup too much.
