Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 6 (2024-2025): November 25 - December 1

Anthony Black - Fantasy Basketball Rankings, DFS Picks, NBA Injury News

Dan's fantasy basketball waiver wire pickups for Week 6 of the 2024-2025 NBA season. Consider these players as fantasy basketball adds, streamers and stashes.

We turn the calendar to December by the time that Week 6 wraps up! This week features a pretty condensed schedule with most of the action taking place on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. There are no games on Thanksgiving and only a handful on Tuesday/Saturday, so plan accordingly!

Injuries continue to pile up across the association. My stance on injuries is pretty straightforward. If a player is a top-50 or better caliber contributor, stash them for as long as possible. But don't hold marginal players who are hurt for longer periods, especially in H2H leagues with a lot of weekly moves where it pays to have as many active players on your roster every day.

I am a big advocate of being aggressive on the waiver wire. If your league has daily lineups, you should use that to your advantage and maximize your weekly games in H2H formats. I'll give you my top adds for standard leagues (25-40% rostered) and deeper formats (less than 25% rostered) every week and the schedule breakdown for all 30 teams. Let's see who we should be eyeing to add to our teams in Week 6!

Standard Leagues - Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire for Week 6

Percent owned numbers for Yahoo! "Standard Leagues" refer to 10 or 12-team leagues.

Malik Beasley - SG (35% rostered)

Beasley has worked his way into an important role in Detroit as the Pistons badly need his shooting on the wing alongside Cade Cunningham. He's made four or more threes in eight straight games and is now averaging over 15 points a game.

His contributions are pretty limited to points and threes, but he's a low turnover player at just 1.2 per game, and his 69% free-throw shooting won't hurt you on only 1.3 attempts per game.

De'Andre Hunter - SF/PF (34%)

The Hawks have experimented with a half dozen lineups and combinations already this season while Hunter missed 11 games, but as soon as he came back he was able to walk right back into a 25 to 30-minute role at power forward. It remains to be seen if he will sit any more back-to-backs, but he's a player who should be rostered in standard formats when healthy. He's averaging 17.7 points per game in just 27 minutes per game!

Robert Williams III - C (27% rostered)

We could see RW3's first start at center tonight as Deandre Ayton is doubtful and Donovan Clingan has already been ruled out with a knee sprain.

The Blazers play four games this week and have no back-to-backs, which means you should get four games out of him either as a starter or reserve. We know his ceiling is massive and he's easily the best available player on the wire right now in terms of the diversity of his contributions.

Malcolm Brogdon - PG/SG (28% rostered)

The veteran combo guard has been moved into the starting lineup with Jordan Poole out the last two games and has averaged 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3 assists for Washington. Brogdon has always been a solid rebounding guard and an efficient shooter as well as a low-turnover guard.

Who knows how long these minutes last with the Wizards embracing the youth movement, but for now Brogdon is too good to be on waivers, scoop him up and stream him until the minutes dry up.

Stephon Castle - PG/SG (24% rostered)

I have been on Castle since the preseason so I am a little baffled by his light rostership at this point in the season despite the fact that he's now worked his way into the starting lineup and is playing 30+ minutes a night.

His ranking is being tanked by his poor shooting (39.4%) which we knew was going to be his weakness as a rookie. But he's offering production across the board including some sneaky blocks (0.4) for a guard. There's just a lot to like with his skill set, even if he is a bit raw now. Coach Pop is going to mold him into an All-Star, just wait and see.

T.J. McConnell - PG (23% rostered)

A four-game week for Indiana is a beautiful thing and just another reason to add TJM this week. A good friend of mine asked me for a streamer yesterday to help win steals and assists and I told him, "Add McConnell!" He happily reported back that he won his matchup thanks to McConnell's three assists yesterday (which, oddly enough was his lowest output in two weeks, ha).

You know the drill, when injuries pile up for Indiana (as they have) and McConnell is playing 20+ minutes he becomes an excellent addition with his efficiency, assists, and steals.

Ty Jerome - PG/SG (22% rostered)

The secret is out about my guy Ty Jerome - he is a baller! His minutes are on the rise in a big way as the Cavs have dealt with injuries to Caris LeVert, Isaac Okoro, Dean Wade, and Sam Merrill over the last week.

Jerome has 29 and 26 points in his last two games and scored 24 against Charlotte last Sunday. He's become the instant offense off the bench that Cleveland badly needed and as long as Caris LeVert remains out, Jerome is a MUST ADD in all formats.

Deeper Leagues - Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire for Week 6

Percent owned numbers for Yahoo! "Deeper Leagues" refer to 14-team leagues or more.

Harrison Barnes - SF/PF (20% rostered)

Yeah, I know - we've seen Barnes do this before and then come back to Earth quite quickly. But let's not ignore the fact that when Barnes has played meaningful minutes during his career he has always been a solid low-end fantasy contributor.

Points, threes, and rebounds are all you are getting, but for those who value efficiency, you're also getting 52% from the field with less than a turnover per game. There's value there, even if it's boring.

Moritz Wagner - C (17% rostered)

Wagner continues to come on strong with 18 and 19 points in his last two games. He's coming off the bench but is helping to carry the offense with the second unit. You wish he rebounded more or offered some defensive stats, but at the end of the day, he's still pouring in nearly 13 points per game on 54% shooting and a solid 81% from the line. As long as Wendell Carter Jr. remains out, Wagner belongs on deep league rosters.

Jonathan Isaac - SF/PF (16% rostered)

Another Orlando bench guy who is chipping in and helping carry this team to wins while Paolo Banchero and WCJ are out is Isaac. He plays only 17 minutes per game but is quite impactful at the defensive end with 5.1 boards, 0.8 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game.

Naji Marshall - SG/SF (16% rostered)

Marshall has re-emerged as a viable option lately, scoring 20+ points in two straight games while the Mavs have been without Luka Doncic. He's a nice glue guy out there for Dallas and your fantasy team as he offers a little of everything (other than blocks) including some very efficient shooting numbers from the field and the charity stripe.

Anthony Black - PG/SG (14% rostered)

The sophomore guard has had to take on a bigger role this year and has moved ahead of Cole Anthony in the pecking order for minutes. He's coming off the bench, but playing close to starters' minutes and often closing out games with the starters.

He's now up to 4.6 assists per game this season. With assists being some of the hardest stats to find on waivers, Black makes sense as an add for teams who can afford to take a small hit in scoring.

Derrick Jones Jr. - SF/PF (13% rostered)

Don't look now, but DJJ has 17 and 18 points in his last two games while helping to fill the void in scoring left behind by Norman Powell's absence in L.A. His scoring could evaporate rather quickly, but he's still averaging 1.4 steals per game and is a low-turnover, high-efficiency player who won't hurt you anywhere else.

Dillon Brooks - SG/SF (12% rostered)

Brooks is a streaky shooter but has scored in double digits now in five of his last seven games. Houston plays a back-to-back to start the week on Tues/Wed and then are off until Sunday. He might be a nice two-day streamer who you can dump right afterward.

The Single Digit Crowd (Super Deep Leagues)

Quentin Grimes - SG/SF (11% rostered)

Gary Trent Jr. - PG/SG (9% rostered)

Jordan Hawkins - SG (9% rostered)

Jeremiah Robinson-Earl - PF/C (8%)

Kevin Porter Jr. - PG (7% rostered)

Cody Martin - SG/SF (6% rostered)

Amir Coffey - SF/PF (6% rostered)

Matas Buzelis - SF (2% rostered)
