FAAB Waiver Wire Bidding - Fantasy Baseball Pickups to Target for Week 3 (April 14 - April 20)

Wilmer Flores - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Andy's FAAB fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups and bidding guide for Week 3 (April 14 - April 20). His recommended FAAB dollars to spend on waiver wire adds.

The baseball season is in full swing, which means that injuries have begun to pile up. Our series about FAAB fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups continues as we head into Week 3 of the 2025 MLB season -- April 14 through April 20. This waiver wire article will recommend free agents to target and how much FAAB you should allocate for them.

This week, I will highlight several infielders who possess multi-positional flexibility and have earned everyday at-bats. On the pitching side, we will look at a former top prospect who has finally begun to enjoy his long-awaited breakout.

Each week, I will break down at least one player from each position with ownership percentages under 40 percent in Yahoo! leagues who could improve your roster and provide you with an added boost in several categories. Let's get to it!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball draft tools and resources:

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters to Target

Joey Bart, C, Pittsburgh Pirates

15% rostered
FAAB Bid: <20 percent if needing a No. 2 catcher, <6 percent for others

Joey Bart enjoyed a strong Pittsburgh debut last summer but got off to a slow start this season, and many frustrated managers cut ties with him. However, the former top prospect enjoyed a strong week and is worth checking your waiver wire for.

Over his past four games, Bart has held a .333/.432/.733 line with a double, a triple, and a home run. He continues to see everyday at-bats in Pittsburgh and, more importantly, is typically batting cleanup.

Other C to consider: Sean Murphy, ATL

Wilmer Flores, 1B, San Francisco Giants

15% rostered
FAAB Bid: <8 percent

After a disappointing 2024 campaign that was cut short by numerous injuries, Wilmer Flores has begun to turn the corner early in 2025. Through his first 12 games of the season, Flores has held a strong .273/.304/.614 slash line with five home runs.

He has tallied an impressive 14 RBI while batting in the heart of the San Francisco lineup. He is a great hitter to target if you need a corner infielder.

Other 1B to consider: Gavin Sheets, SD

Dylan Moore, 1B/2B/3B/SS/OF, Seattle Mariners

21% rostered
FAAB Bid: <4 percent

Dylan Moore is the ultimate utility man and a must-roster in any daily lineup format. Through the early part of the campaign, Moore has been deployed at numerous positions after having a similar role in 2024.

However, unlike last season, when he only held value due to his positional flexibility, Moore has begun to flash some upside with his bat. Over his past seven contests, he has posted a strong .286 AVG with two home runs and two stolen bases.

Kyren Paris, 2B/OF, Los Angeles Angels

45% rostered
FAAB Bid: <14 percent

Even though Kyren Paris sits over the 40 percent roster mark, he has been the most-added player this week and is worth discussing. He is likely still available in shallower formats.

Paris has done nothing but hit this season, launching five home runs with a .400/.507/1.037 line across his past 10 games. The 23-year-old has begun seeing time at second base and center field. While his career production in the minors suggests this production is not sustainable, if you have an open roster spot, do not be afraid to place a higher bid on one of the hottest hitters in the sport.

Zach McKinstry, 2B/3B/SS/OF, Detroit Tigers

11% rostered
FAAB Bid: <4 percent

Entering Friday's games, Zach McKinstry was riding an impressive seven-game hitting streak. During this stretch, the 29-year-old has posted a stellar .455 AVG with a triple and a home run. Given his recent surge, he has been deployed at several positions in the infield and will continue to see opportunities every day.

Like Moore, McKinstry carries much higher value in daily lineup leagues but is still a viable player to add in weekly formats, given his recent hot stretch. With all the injuries this week, McKinstry can be a viable replacement in several positions.

Other 2Bs to consider: Jonathan Aranda, TB and Jorge Polanco, SEA

Jorge Polanco, 2B/3B, Seattle Mariners

11% rostered
FAAB Bid: <3 percent

After being limited by a knee injury last season, the 31-year-old looks better than ever early in 2025. In his first eight contests, Polanco has posted a stellar .370/.393/.593 slash line with two home runs and a 1:3 BB:K.

While the Mariners have been very cautious about his playing time (they sat him a few days this week due to a minor side injury), he has produced when he is in the lineup. If you are looking for a second or third baseman with upside, Polanco is a strong target this week. If he continues this production, his price will be much higher next weekend.

Other 3B to consider: Isiah Kiner-Falefa, PIT

Geraldo Perdomo, SS, Arizona Diamondbacks

14% rostered
FAAB Bid: <8 percent

With Ketel Marte (hamstring) on the injured list, the Diamondbacks have turned to shortstop Geraldo Perdomo to be the leadoff hitter. Perdomo has performed quite well in this role, holding a .320/.419/.600 line over his past seven games entering Friday. During this stretch, he has gone deep twice and tallied six RBI.

Perdomo should be high on your list this weekend if you need a middle infielder.

Other SS to consider: Joey Ortiz, MIL

Sal Frelick, OF, Milwaukee Brewers

15% rostered
FAAB Bid: <15 percent if needing a depth OF, <9 percent for others

While Sal Frelick carries no power upside, he still holds significant value when looking for a boost to your batting average. Over his previous six games entering Friday, Frelick had tallied 10 total hits, including one double and a triple. He also swiped three bags over this stretch.

Frelick has an everyday spot in the starting nine and will continue to be a valuable asset in batting average while chipping in double-digit steals.

Zac Veen, OF, Colorado Rockies

21% rostered
FAAB Bid: <9 percent

Veen was set to join the MLB roster late last Sunday evening, and as a result, he remains on waivers in over 75 percent of Yahoo! leagues. Veen has tallied two hits with an RBI through his first three games in the big leagues.

While Veen never flashed elite power upside, most of his production in the minor leagues came with his speed. Across 62 games split between High-A, Double-A, and Triple-A last summer, Veen swiped 19 bags with just 11 long balls. If you are looking for a boost in your speed production, make sure to raise your bid on Veen.

Other OFs to consider: JJ Bleday, ATH and Kyren Paris, LAA

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pitchers to Target

Landen Roupp, SP, San Francisco Giants

15% rostered
FAAB Bid: <4 percent

Landen Roupp enjoyed a strong showing in his second outing of the campaign against the Cincinnati Reds. In this start, he tossed six innings of one-run ball. He did not allow a walk and struck out four. In his first outing, he flashed a higher strikeout upside (eight punchouts) but served up four free passes.

The Giants will continue providing Roupp opportunities in the rotation as he started the season well. Last summer, he held a solid 3.58 ERA across his first 50 1/3 MLB innings. He is a solid depth pitcher to target in deeper formats, but do not overspend based on his recent start.

Max Meyer, SP, Miami Marlins

21% rostered
FAAB Bid: <20 percent

Unlike Roupp, Max Meyer is a pitcher I am willing to spend high on. Meyer has looked the part through his first three outings of the season, tallying 19 punchouts across 18 innings of work. He has allowed just four earned runs (one long ball) and five free passes.

Meyer has dealt with numerous injuries in his young career but appears to be healthy and is finally showing his high upside. Despite pitching for a bad team, he is a very talented pitcher who should be rostered in all leagues, even though he may not find himself in the win column.

Other SPs to consider: Tyler Mahle, TEX, Taijuan Walker, PHI, Jordan Hicks, SF

Tommy Kahnle, RP, Detroit Tigers

10% rostered
FAAB Bid: <8 percent if needing saves

Dennis Santana headlined my target for saves last week. If he is still available in your league, make sure to target him first. If not, take a look at Tommy Kahnle. While the Detroit bullpen has relied on a committee, Kahnle is a talented pitcher who will not hurt you, even if he only earns over 10 saves.

He has not allowed a run, hit, or walk through his first four outings of the season. He has struck out four and tallied one save.

Other RP to consider for saves: Emilio Pagan, CIN, Dennis Santana, PIT

Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Monitor

Zebby Matthews, SP, Minnesota Twins

9% rostered
FAAB Bid: <9 percent

While there were reports that David Festa may have temporarily replaced Pablo Lopez (hamstring) on Friday, there have also been reports that the Twins are considering moving to a six-man rotation, which would open the door for Zebby Matthews.

Matthews almost earned a job in spring training and has continued to look the part early in the Triple-A regular season. Through his first 10 innings (two starts), he has struck out 13 batters while allowing just two runs and one walk. This may be the final weekend to acquire Matthews at a discount bid.

Other prospects to monitor: Bubba Chandler, PIT
