Dynasty Fantasy Football Sells - 2nd Year Players To Trade Away

Keon Coleman - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Dave's dynasty fantasy football sells, 2nd year players to trade away in dynasty leagues for 2025. His fantasy football trade values, and players to trade away.

Don’t look now, but we are only a few days away from the start of the 2025 NFL Combine. It’s an exciting time of year for dynasty fantasy football managers. The NFL Draft is quickly approaching, and that means dynasty rookie drafts will soon follow.

While you should generally exhibit patience with your young players, there are times when it’s best to move on and wash your hands altogether. Today, we look at several players from last year's NFL Draft that fantasy gamers should give the heave-ho.

Here are some 2nd year players to sell or trade away in your dynasty fantasy football leagues. Be sure to also bookmark our fantasy football dynasty rankings which are constantly updated.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

MarShawn Lloyd, RB, Green Bay Packers

Lloyd had a pretty disastrous rookie season. He struggled with injuries all year and only played one game as a result. Lloyd only carried the football six times, so we barely got to see him in action.

It might sound harsh to recommend selling a player so early in his career, but several factors are working against Lloyd. As we mentioned earlier, the incoming running back class is loaded with talent.

Green Bay may draft a back who eventually takes Lloyd’s spot on the 53-man roster. Lloyd’s injury problems could also bleed over into 2025 and see him go down a road similar to that of Kendre Miller in New Orleans. There’s also the major fumbling issues Lloyd had in college, and this could keep him off the field even if he is healthy.

On top of all that, he is stuck firmly behind Josh Jacobs on the Packers' depth chart.

There just aren’t many reasons to continue rostering Lloyd. You’re better off finding someone who still believes in him and acquiring a 2025 third or fourth-round pick. You can then use that pick to find a back who lands in a better situation than Lloyd.

Keon Coleman, WR, Buffalo Bills

Coleman’s rookie season was not exactly what Bills fans were expecting. He did average a robust 19.2 yards per reception but struggled mightily to consistently separate against defenders.

Out of 169 receivers with 50+ targets, Coleman finished 142nd in Fantasy Points Data Suite’s Average Separation Score. He also finished dead last in Next Gen Stats' Average Separation (SEP) score. However you slice it, Coleman just couldn’t get open.

Part of this can be attributed to his role in Buffalo’s offense. Per Fantasy Points Data Suite, Buffalo had Coleman run 88.6 percent of his routes from the outside. This just doesn’t fit his current skill set.

Coleman may have had more success as a rookie working in a power slot role in the Bills offense. We will see if Buffalo makes this adjustment for 2025, but with Khalil Shakir locking down the slot receiver role, this seems unlikely.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane also noted the team’s need for a true WR1 in his season-ending news conference. He made no mention of Coleman in such a role, so it seems like Buffalo might be losing faith.

Gamers should strongly consider selling Coleman. Receivers of this archetype rarely work out (think DeVante Parker for a best-case scenario), and Coleman playing out of position also doesn’t help matters. It might be time to cut your losses and move on without him.

Jonathon Brooks, RB, Carolina Panthers

Brooks was the first running back taken in the 2024 NFL Draft after he tore his ACL in November 2023. He missed the majority of the season recovering from that injury. Brooks finally made his NFL debut in Week 12 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Unfortunately, Brooks would re-tear his ACL a few weeks later in just his third career game.

What a tough break. You hate to see this happen to any player. With his injury happening so late in the season, it looks like Brooks might miss the entire 2025 season. That means dynasty gamers might have to wait until 2026 to see any kind of return on their investment.

Carolina is sure to add another back behind current starter Chuba Hubbard. This player could eventually surpass Brooks on the team’s depth chart. We also don’t know if Brooks will be the same player he was in college following a second major knee injury.

There are a lot of question marks surrounding Brooks. Selling might be the best move here. I’ve seen him go for a late second-round pick in some of my Superflex leagues and an early second in a single quarterback league. That’s not a bad return for a player with an uncertain future.

Roman Wilson, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers

Wilson had a forgettable rookie season last year. He struggled with a hamstring injury, only suited up for one game, and did not register a single catch. Things really could not have gone worse for the former Michigan Wolverine.

Many NFL Draft pundits plugged into the league have consistently been mocking a wide receiver to the Steelers in Round 1 of the NFL Draft. Such a move would be bad news for Wilson’s already depressed dynasty value. The team seems to recognize they have a gaping hole at WR2 and looks to have lost faith that Wilson can fill that void.

You won’t get much in return if you trade Wilson, and it’s understandable if you’d rather take a wait-and-see approach with him. However, he did absolutely nothing as a rookie to inspire confidence and make you believe he can become a viable fantasy (or real-life) receiver. It’s worth moving him for a late-round pick to take a flyer on another player.

Jermaine Burton, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

Burton was a popular sleeper in rookie drafts last year, but 2024 was a disastrous season for him. He only caught four all year and was disciplined several times for violating team rules. Burton had off-the-field issues in college that caused him to fall in the NFL Draft. It looks like those have carried over into his professional career.

News also broke earlier in the week that Cincinnati plans to tag Tee Higgins again this year and that the team is now planning to re-sign him to a long-term contract.

That move would make it highly unlikely Burton would emerge as a quality fantasy option. The path has gotten increasingly narrow for Burton to be a factor in the Bengals' offense. Add in his off-the-field issues, and it sure looks like he is heading down the wrong path.

Burton isn’t worth much right now. However, if you can find an owner willing to gamble on him for a fourth-round Superflex rookie pick, it’s worth consideration. Remember, it’s always better to get something in return rather than watching a player whither away on your bench.
