What Time is 'Thursday Night Football?' Week 2 NFL Schedule

Tua Tagovailoa - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

What time is the "Thursday Night Football" game for Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season? Bruce looks at all the details, including who is playing and who will win.

What an incredible opening week to the 2024 NFL season. Three of the four prime-time games were nail-biters, while Sunday featured a bevy of upsets, dominant wins, and close calls.

Let's hope Week 2's "Thursday Night Football" game is as exciting as last week's heartbreaking Baltimore Ravens loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. This week's game should be pretty thrilling, though, as for the second week in a row, we get two AFC playoff contenders competing in prime-time lights.

I will highlight the matchup, start time, and key players to watch for Thursday evening in this piece.

Who is Playing on "Thursday Night Football?"

Week 2 opens up with two AFC East rivals facing off to be the first team to go 2-0 on the young season, as the Buffalo Bills take the road to face the Miami Dolphins. Buffalo is coming off a nice 14-point comeback against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, with dominant quarterback Josh Allen accounting for four touchdowns in the final 31 minutes of the game.

Allen may need to do his usual magic against the Miami Dolphins, who will play their second home game in four days. Miami pulled a Buffalo and also pulled off a 14-point comeback to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in an impressive game.

Newly extended quarterback Tua Tagovailoa needed to carry the offense as Miami's usual dominant running game sputtered. Tagovailoa proved to be more than capable as he threw for a league-high 338 yards to help his team secure a victory.

When and How Can I Watch The Game?

Week 2's "Thursday Night Football" game is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. EDT.

Like most "Thursday Night Football" games the rest of the season, the game will be streamed through Amazon Prime Video. They have a 30-day trial you can sign up for if you are not already a Prime Video subscriber. If you are only interested in the streaming options, the going rate is $8.99/month for Amazon Prime Video, with a rate of $14.99/month if you want all services offered through Amazon Prime beyond video streaming.

Additionally, you can watch the game through the NFL+ app for $6.99/month. The downside of this option is that you'd only be able to watch it on a computer, phone, or tablet. If that is how you prefer consuming media, it is the cheaper option unless you opt for the 30-day trial of Amazon Prime Video.

Who is Going to Win?

Vegas has the betting line set as the Dolphins are favored by 2.5 points in this matchup of AFC East division-champion hopefuls.

It should be a good game this week. The Dolphins are playing at home, where they are 14-4 under coach Mike McDaniel. Miami's explosive offense is tough to deal with even if you're stopping its rushing attack as the Jaguars know quite well from Week 1.

The Dolphins defense also performed quite well, as they held the Jaguars to only 267 yards of offense; Jacksonville only gained 104 yards in the second half across six drives against Miami's defense.

Alternatively, the Bills have Allen, who, despite having a limited receiving room, put up 271 total yards of offense in Week 1 and an impressive 175 yards in the second half alone.

Buffalo's defense looked somewhat concerning against the run, though, allowing five yards per carry against Arizona; however, these concerns may be mitigated by injuries in the running back room with Miami, as Raheem Mostert has been ruled out for the game on Thursday and De'Von Achane has been limited in practice during the short week.

Expect some big-time quarterback play between Allen and Tagovailoa to open Week 2.
