#51-60 Ranked

Some quick-hit thoughts on a few players I wanted to highlight:

Jonas Valanciunas is a threat to post a double double every night. Valanciunas should have every opportunity to produce on Memphis's thin depth chart. Robert Covington is always a sneaky good fantasy contributor. You can count on him to be towards the top of the NBA in threes and steals without hurting any of your categories. Mitchell Robinson is an excellent source of blocks and has plenty of upside heading into his second season. His Yahoo ADP is 29.9, but none of us are anticipating him to take that large of a leap. His highest ranking was 43.

Zach LaVine averaged a career high 23.7 points per game last season and raised his field goal percentage by over 8 percent to 46.7%. Victor Oladipo is a potential top 20 player when healthy, but a lot of uncertainty is still surrounding him. There is no set timetable for his return. Julius Randle is coming off of a breakout season and is a real threat to average 20+ points and 10+ rebounds with the New York Knicks. How David Fizdale divides playing time between Randle and Robinson will have a huge impact on both of their fantasy values.

After a slow start with Washington, Otto Porter Jr. looked like a new player in Chicago averaging 17.5 points and 2.6 three-pointers made per game while shooting a blistering 48.8% from deep. Jayson Tatum didn't take the step forward many expected him to do last season, but he will have more responsibility without Al Horford or Kyrie Irving. Speaking of Horford, he does not particularly stand out in one category, but he contributes across the board. Danilo Gallinari is one of the most efficient scorers in the league. He could be the go to guy in Oklahoma City.

#61-75 Ranked

Some of the guys we prefer compared to their ADP:

#65 Marvin Bagley III (ADP 73.3)

Bagley had a strong rookie season, but there are plenty of signs that he is just scratching the surface of his potential. In 4 starts, Bagley averaged 20 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks. His preseason has been impressive, as well. He put up 30 points and 14 rebounds in only 28 minutes on Wednesday.

#70 Montrezl Harrell (ADP 81.6)

Harrell is an efficient source of points. He averaged 16.6 points per game on 61.5% shooting from the field last season. That is in addition to his 6.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. Harrell is clearly the best center the Clippers have right now. He may not be the flashiest pick. However, he is a safe one and right now an undervalued one.

#75 Ricky Rubio (ADP 87.2)

A change of scenery may be exactly what Rubio needs. His assist numbers were solid in Utah, but nowhere near where they were in Minneapolis. After splitting the point guard role with Donovan Mitchell last season, Rubio will immediately step into the lead playmaking role in Phoenix.

Players we did not like as much:

#60 Bam Adebayo (ADP 55.4)

Adebayo can put up big numbers with Hassan Whiteside now on the Blazers. However, we are not ready to put him ahead of players who have already had big seasons.

#76-100 Ranked

Some of the players we prefer compared to their ADP:

#78 Lou Williams (ADP 88.4)

Lou Williams has averaged over 20 points and 5 assists the past two seasons while coming off the bench. Despite the arrival of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, I do not anticipate a huge drop off in his production. He is still their best option in the backcourt and will continue to destroy opposing second units.

#85 Marcus Smart (ADP 99.6)

There was a large separation between our rankers on Smart. He placed anywhere between 65 and 107. I do not completely understand the hype around Smart. He is a good source of steals, but with Kemba Walker around his ceiling is limited. He has never averaged 11 points or 5 assists in a season. Also, his field goal percentage is typically low.

#91 Paul Millsap (ADP 113.9)

Millsap is no longer an All-Star, but he is still valuable. He can score, rebound, shoot it from deep, and has no glaring holes in his game. He's a nice addition in the early 90's.

Players we did not like as much:

#80 Thomas Bryant (ADP 68.1)

I found this surprising, but I realized I only ranked him at 78. In fact, only one of us put him in our top 70. I personally believe Bryant will have a good year, but players Hassan Whiteside and Derrick Favors look like stronger options in this range.

#84 Gordon Hayward (ADP 76.9)

Hayward had a time returning to the court last season. It is still possible that his play will improve over time, but we do not like the value here.
