Should I Drop Diontae Johnson? Fantasy Football Outlook For Week 13

Diontae Johnson - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Should I drop Diontae Johnson for fantasy football in Week 13? Is Diontae Johnson safe to cut? Read the latest fantasy football waiver outlooks.

Diontae Johnson’s fantasy football value has plummeted in 2024, and his move to the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the trade deadline has done little to revive it. Once considered a reliable fantasy option when he was in Pittsburgh, Johnson has been nothing more than a depth piece in Baltimore’s offense, offering little to no value for fantasy managers.

His time with the Carolina Panthers earlier this season showed flashes of his former self, with three games of 78-plus receiving yards and a touchdown in Weeks 3, 4, and 6. However, since that brief stretch of production, his output has fallen off a cliff.

This has resulted in many asking whether or not to drop Johnson for fantasy.

Should I Drop Diontae Johnson in Fantasy Football?

The move to Baltimore hasn’t done Johnson any favors. The Ravens’ offense is heavily reliant on its run game and features a deep pool of receiving options like Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, and two reliable pass-catching tight ends in Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely, leaving Johnson as an afterthought in the pecking order.

For a player who once posted an impressive 107 receptions for 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns in 2021, the decline has been stark. His lack of targets, opportunities, and production makes him a non-factor for fantasy purposes, and at this point, he should be dropped in all formats.

Johnson’s recent lack of production has become a troubling trend. After being moved from Pittsburgh to Carolina and then to Baltimore, two teams essentially gave up on him for minimal return. That speaks volumes about how NFL decision-makers view his value at this stage. For fantasy managers still holding onto hope, it’s time to cut bait and move on to players with more upside and opportunity.

Diontae Johnson Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 13

Even Johnson’s early-season success with the Panthers now feels like a distant memory. He showed flashes of being a reliable fantasy asset, but inconsistency has been his defining trait in 2024.

The Ravens’ run-heavy approach and their reliance on established playmakers make it nearly impossible for Johnson to carve out a significant role. He’s no longer the target magnet he once was, and the drop in volume has completely eroded his fantasy floor.

Heading into Week 13, Diontae Johnson is a name that fantasy managers should leave on the waiver wire. His days of being a reliable asset appear to be behind him, and while he may still be a solid depth piece for NFL teams, that doesn’t translate into fantasy relevance. If you’ve been holding out hope for a resurgence, it’s time to let go and focus on players with a clearer path to production.
