Braelon Allen's Ceiling Capped as No. 2 Backfield Option
Braelon Allen projects again to play second fiddle in the team's backfield this Sunday when they take on the Buffalo Bills at home. The 21-year-old was able to punch in a rushing score last weekend in their loss to the Steelers, but was the clear-cut second option behind running mate Breece Hall. The latter out-touched the former 21-6, and Allen did not receive a target in the passing game. Even if he does operate as New York's goal line back - which has not been noted or confirmed - that role would not guarantee fantasy points as he'll be subject to Justin Fields stealing touches in that area. For now, Allen should continue to mix in behind Hall as the foremost change-of-pace option. While that's the case, his value will come primarily as a high-end handcuff. The second-year pro ranks as RotoBaller's PPR RB39 ahead of Week 2.
