Miami-Ohio Names Kansas Transfer David McComb As The Starting QB
Miami-Ohio has named Kansas transfer David McComb as the starting quarterback ahead of Miami's Week 1 game at Pittsburgh. McComb beat out 2025 Redhawks spot-starter Thomas Gostkowski for the 2026 starting job. McComb, a native of Edmond, Oklahoma, redshirted for the Kansas Jayhawks in 2025. He didn't record any game time for Kansas. McComb was a three-star recruit in the 2025 class. Gostkowski completed just 38-of-86 passes in 2025 for 575 yards with four touchdowns and an interception. McComb, who was a dual-threat quarterback and track star in high school, is expected to be an upgrade at the position.
