NBA Fantasy Shopper: DFS Lineup Picks for DraftStreet 2/11

rotoballer-fantasy-basketball-advice-chris-paul-pgPG: Chris Paul ($16,985): In just his second game back from injury, Paul’s value is still relatively low for the caliber of player he is.  Last game, he put up a solid 7-point, 8-assist, 4-steal and 2-rebound performance, but that was in limited minutes as the Clippers destroyed the Sixers.  Tonight’s game should be significantly better as the Clippers take on Portland.  The Blazers are coming in on a back-to-back, and Paul should be ready to get back to his season averages of 19 points, 11 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 2.5 steals in the game this evening.

SG: Alec Burks ($10,894): Generally speaking, a player who averages 12.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists a game shouldn’t excite a daily fantasy player.  However, an exception should be made tonight for Burks, who faces the awful Sixers.  Coming off of back-to-back 40+ point losses, Philadelphia has the look of a team that has given up, and their defense shows it.  Allowing by far the most points per game means Burks should be able to have a nice night.  In the last month, he has posted games of 34, 26, 20 and 20 which shows he is always a candidate for a good scoring night.  The price is a bit high, but the potential is there to blow that out of the water.

SF: Khris Middleton ($10,275): Seemingly the last man standing in Milwaukee, Middleton has proven to be an effective all-around player.  Prior to the Bucks last game, he had a streak of 10 straight games scoring over 10 points, and he's also pulled down 4 rebounds and 3 assists a game over the last two weeks.  Tonight, the Bucks will be without John Henson, Larry Sanders, Caron Butler and possibly Ersan Ilyasova.  Those injuries mean that Middleton should be able to get well over 35 minutes against New Orleans.  Anthony Davis will be a force to reckon with, but the playing time should make Middleton a good value play tonight.

PF: Marreese Speights ($6,095): Quite possibly the highest-owned player tonight will be Speights.  In his last game, he went off for 32 points and 8 rebounds against the Sixers, and tonight he should see more minutes with both Jermaine O’Neal and Andrew Bogut declared out.  Speights should also be able to take advantage of a Heat front line coming in on a back to back and not being known for a stellar defensive front line.  For the price you can hardly afford to not take the Warriors big man.

C: Andre Drummond ($17,936): Over the last two weeks, Drummond is averaging a crazy 15.7 points, 14.7 rebounds and 2.6 blocks.  That means he is turning into one of the top daily fantasy plays in the entire NBA.  Additionally, consider that he is getting over a steal per game while shooting nearly 70% from the floor over those two weeks, and that means very few points backwards and a whole lot in the right direction.  His double-double streak was stopped last game against San Antonio, but he's almost a lock to start up again tonight against a Cleveland team that is likely to play Henry Sims and Tyler Zeller at center-- not much to dislike about the matchup tonight.

U: Patty Mills ($9,536): Mills is the ultimate all-or-nothing player.  When Tony Parker sits, he is about as good as Parker including a 32-point, 7-rebound and 4-assist night last week against Charlotte.  Parker has already been ruled out for this contest, which means that Mills should see a majority of the minutes at the point against Boston.  The Celtics have seen solid, but Gregg Popovich is one of the best coaches in the league and generally finds way to get his players open shots.  Mills rolled his ankle in their last game and only had 7 points, but all signs point to him being good to go tonight, meaning that for this  price there will be few better options.
