Koby's best MLB player prop bets for today (5/28/2026). Bet his home run props (HR props) and win money betting on MLB player props, including Yordan Alvarez, Munetaka Murakami, and others!
Welcome back, RotoBallers! It feels unreal that we are already two months into the season. It feels like just yesterday we started writing these articles. We have a pretty slow Thursday on our hands, as we only have six games on deck for us. We are going to have to dig deep here to get some solid home run spots, but that's what we are here for! So let's dive in.
In this article, I'll focus on four home run spots, including a longshot bet that I think is a strong play this Thursday night from all across Major League Baseball's schedule. Make sure to check out the RotoBaller Discord, where you can find input from all our experts, which could include more home run spots as well as some great strikeout picks.
Below, you'll be able to read about my favorite home run props from MLB games on Thursday, May 28, 2026. The current odds given reflect the best price as of the time of publication, but remember to always shop around at other sportsbooks so you can get the most value on your home run wagers. Odds can vary significantly from one sportsbook to another.
MLB Prop Bets - Today's Home Run Prop Picks (5/28/2026)
Yordan Alvarez OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+311 DraftKings)
I think Yordan Alvarez is going to be our best spot on the whole slate for a home run. It is a pretty tough slate to find spots for homers, but this one felt pretty obvious. Alvarez is up to 18 home runs on the season already, and 11 of which have come against RHP. Only Christian Walker has more against righties this season for the Astros. The Astros have been a bit lacking in production this season, but they have started to get it going in recent weeks.
They are going up against AL West rivals in the Rangers, who have also struggled out of the gate this season. The biggest surprise for me has been how rough Nathan Eovaldi has been; he has struggled to get it going and has been hammered by lefties this season. He has given up a slate leading 11 home runs, eight of which have come to opposing lefties. LHH are sporting a .455 SLG, .203 ISO, 9.2% Barrel%, and a 45% HardHit%.
Eovaldi has been a bit better in recent starts, but he is still prone to getting hit, especially with someone like Alvarez at the plate. That's the last thing you want. Alvarez has hit Eovaldi well in the past, hitting him to the tune of .522 on 23 ABs. Two of those hits were home runs.
On the season, Alvarez has hit righties extremely well; he leads the team in most categories. Leading with a .607 SLG, .311 ISO, 23.4% Barrel%, and a 53.3% HardHit%. He has just been unreal this season, and this is lining up to be an elite spot for him to go yard!
Munetaka Murakami OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+325 HardRock)
Like Zach mentioned yesterday, the White Sox have been red hot and just put a beatdown on this Twins team just last night. This time, they are going up against Taj Bradley, who has actually been really solid for the Twins this season. He has a sub-3 ERA and has only given up five homers on the season.
You may ask, " Why am I going against him here? Well, the simple answer is there aren't very many great spots on the slate, so we gotta pick and choose our spots. The long answer is this: Bradley has been good, but lefties have done some decent damage to him this year, including a near 16% Barrel% and 41.4% HardHit%. He has given up three of his five home runs to lefties this season, and outside of Kyle Schwarber, there is no better lefty than Munetaka Murakami right now.
Murakami has just been utterly ridiculous this season. I was expecting him to be good, but he has been insane this season. He is one home run shy of 20 home runs, and we are just barely a third of the way through the season. Against righties, he is extremely dangerous; he has 15 of those 19 home runs, with a .577 SLG, .336 ISO, a 24.1% Barrel%, and a 57.5% HardHit%. All of which led the team. As I wrote this, he hit his 20th home run, which just goes to show how red-hot he is right now.

The only downside of going here is that his odds have dropped pretty significantly. If you want better odds, Colson Montgomery has been excellent as well. He will have higher odds, but I'm going with Murakami, who should be the safer pick to homer here.
