Quarterback Plays for Fantasy Aces

Andrew Luck (vs. HOU, $6,900)

Luck sets up as an excellent play at quarterback this weekend on Aces. Even though his matchup against Houston's pass defense appears to be a tough one, the Indy offense may have caught a break this week. Houston could be without star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and one of their better cornerbacks in Jonathan Joseph for this second meeting between Houston and Indy this season. If both Clowney and Joseph are out that would give a significant boost to the Colts' outlook on offense. Luck is coming off one of his better games of the season and checks in as an excellent value this weekend as he's priced as just the eighth-most expensive signal caller on the slate.

Kirk Cousins (@ PHI, $6,600)

Cousins has been playing extremely well this season for the Redskins, ranking third in the league with 3,811 passing yards and tied for eighth with 21 touchdowns. Despite his rock-solid performance this season, he remains priced as just a fringe QB1 on many daily fantasy sites. He showed two weeks ago on Thanksgiving just what his ceiling is when he lit the Cowboys up for 449 yards and three scores. The Eagles do not pose an intimidating matchup as they have been getting roasted through the air lately. The past two quarterbacks the Eagles have faced, Aaron Rodgers and Andy Dalton, have both passed for over 300 yards and two touchdowns. Look for Cousins to add to that streak on Sunday.

Running Back Plays for Fantasy Aces

David Johnson (@ MIA, $6,800)

At this point, it is nearly impossible to get away from Johnson, if you can manage to shoehorn him into your lineups. The second-year back has been so much better than any other ball carrier this season that even at the high price of $6,800 he is a strong value. His massive, multi-touchdown ceiling is backed up by an extremely high floor which is buoyed by his extensive use in the passing game. Johnson ranks first in the league among running backs with 64 receptions. Not that it really matters for the matchup-proof Johnson, but the Dolphins' run defense ranks just 22nd in the league in DVOA.

Matt Forte (@ SF, $5,200)

The formula against San Francisco has been simple this season. Step one: Start running backs in daily leagues who are facing the 49ers. Step two: Print money. Jordan Howard held up his end of the bargain last week, scoring three times on the ground against the hapless Niners' run defense. Matt Forte has been up-and-down this season, but he has flashed his ceiling a few times with a three-touchdown game in Week 2 against Buffalo, a two-score game against a tough Ravens run defense in Week 7, and a two-score game in Week 8 against the Browns. With the Jets now starting rookie Bryce Petty at quarterback, look for the offense to revolve around Forte.

Wide Receiver Plays for Fantasy Aces

T.Y. Hilton (@ HOU, $5,000)

Hilton is a prime tournament wide receiver. He has the big play upside that can win tournaments and gets a matchup that won't be as difficult as it appears on paper. As mentioned above in the Andrew Luck blurb, the Texans are banged up on defense and will likely be without Jonathan Joseph. Hilton runs the majority of his routes from the slot and as such will be matched up across from Charles James often. James grades out at just 44.3 over on Pro Football Focus, making this definitely a matchup that Hilton can exploit. An Andrew Luck/Hilton stack is looking like a nice option that could be lightly owned due to the red number next to Houston's pass defense ranking.

Tyrell Williams (@ CAR, $4,400)

Williams has settled in nicely as one of Phillip Rivers' top targets this season. The second-year receiver has been on fire lately, scoring a touchdown in four straight games while racking up 307 receiving yards over that span. A matchup against the Panthers gives Williams a chance at reaching pay dirt yet again as Carolina has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers this season. Add in a stout Panthers run defense and we should see the Chargers take to the air in attempts to move the ball this weekend. Williams is an outright steal at just $4,400 on Aces.

Tight End Play for Fantasy Aces

Tyler Eifert (@ CLE, $4,900)

Cincinnati's tight end has a fantastic matchup against a struggling Cleveland defense. Look for the All-Pro tight end to bounce back from his two-target performance against the Eagles last week and lead the Cincinnati passing attack against the Browns. Cleveland is allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to enemy tight ends and Eifert should see a prominent role as Andy Dalton's favorite target, especially with A.J. Green sidelined by a hamstring injury. If Eifert is too expensive for your tastes or if you need to save some cash, Antonio Gates at $3,900 is another solid choice as he has a fantastic matchup against a Carolina defense that is allowing the most fantasy points per game to tight ends.

Defense/Special Teams Play for Fantasy Aces

San Diego Chargers (@ CAR, $2,500)

The Broncos, Vikings, and Bengals defenses are all in great spots this weekend, but they are also among the most expensive defense options on Aces. If you can fit one of those teams into your lineup, there's no issue going with them. If you need to save up a bit at defense, the Chargers shape up as a solid value option. San Diego's defense has been excellent this season, ranking ninth in the league in DVOA according to Football Outsiders. Carolina represents a plus matchup for fantasy defenses, allowing the sixth-most fantasy points per game. Carolina's offense has allowed defenses to rack up 27 quarterback sacks, 13 interceptions, and eight fumble recoveries this season.
