NFL Power Rankings: Where Do All 32 Teams Stand Ahead of Week 2 Football?

Justin Herbert - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Quincy's NFL power rankings for all 32 teams heading into Week 2 of 2025. Where does each NFL team stand in our latest power rankings for the 2025 season?

NFL Week 1 gave us a few exciting games, but for the most part, offense was lacking around the league. Defense prevailed as offenses looked sloppy and unprepared for the rigors of the NFL season. Turnovers were ripe, three-and-outs were common, and teams struggled to even score 20 points.

That type of showing is not uncommon for Week 1. Defenses often have the upper hand early in the season while offenses are still coming together with whatever major or minor tweaks may arise from the offseason. As such, there should be better NFL days ahead in Week 2 and beyond. However, Week 1 showed us some colors that are concerning for some teams and encouraging for others.

With Week 1 behind us, it is time to revisit the NFL power rankings. There are a few major risers and fallers this week, based on their performances in Week 1. Some of these teams could reposition themselves if they show us what they are made of, but several performances were quite concerning. Let's dive in.

Editor's Note: The FFPC Baby Gorilla Tournament is now open, featuring a $100,000 grand prize and a $675,450 total prize pool! This 12-team, Tight End Premium contest uses a 20-round draft format, with the overall winners determined by total points scored during Weeks 15–17. No. 32: New York Giants

The Giants' defense did alright to contain an explosive Commanders' offense in Week 1. However, the Giants' offense looked completely atrocious. The Giants only managed to generate six points and looked lost at times on offense. That is not what you want to see out of a team with a quarterback upgrade and a desperate coach.

No. 31: Tennessee Titans

Titans quarterback Cam Ward looked like a rookie in Week 1. He flashed plays that made him the No. 1 overall pick, but he also completed less than 50% of his passes against a relentless Broncos front. It is one game, and nothing to panic about. However, the Titans' defense was opportunistic and held a talented Broncos' offense to just 20 points.

No. 30: New Orleans Saints

So, the Saints were not terrible in Week 1. Sure, they only managed to score 13 points, but they pushed a talented Cardinals team right down to the wire. Quarterback Spencer Rattler looked alright in his debut as the Week 1 starter. This team may be better than we originally thought.

No. 29: Cleveland Browns

The Browns covered the spread and were a couple of missed chip shots away from beating the Bengals. The Browns' defense showed us that they will be able to keep this team in games this year. The offense had trouble scoring points, but they did not have issues moving the ball against a porous Bengals defense.

No. 28: Carolina Panthers

The Panthers are one of our largest fallers this week. After entering the season with so much promise, the team completely fell apart after the weather delay against the Jaguars. Perhaps some of their performance can be blamed on the delay, but it was concerning to see many of the same mistakes of the past be repeated in Week 1.

No. 27: New England Patriots

The Patriots did not play well in Week 1. After opening the first half on fire on both sides of the ball, the team melted down in the second half. The offense struggled to move the ball, while the defense looked sloppy and out of position. The team had multiple chances to win the game in the second half and blew it. This performance was eye-opening.

No. 26: Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders looked outmatched in the first half of Week 1 against the Patriots. New England's offense had its way with the Raiders' defense and marched up and down the field. That all changed in the second half when the Raiders dialed up a lot of pressure. The Raiders' offense was uninspiring in this game, but they flashed a lot of big-play potential that they simply lacked in 2024. This team should improve as the year continues.

No. 25: New York Jets

In Week 1, it was the Jets' offense that stole the show in the Meadowlands. The offseason concerns about this unit were put to rest after a 32-point showing against an excellent Steelers' defense. If they can play like this all season, the Jets may finally have a future to look forward to.

No. 24: Indianapolis Colts

Could this be our newest quarterback reclamation project? Daniel Jones carved up the Dolphins' defense and avoided the mistakes that made him a journeyman in the first place. Danny Dimes was simply dropping dimes all day in a well-called game that catered to his strengths. The Colts could be a problem in the AFC South.

No. 23: Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars took what they could against a Panthers team that struggled mightily in Week 1. The Jags' performance did not inspire serious confidence in NFL fans, but it also did not create substantial doubt. For now, we must wait and see what is going to happen with this team moving forward.

No. 22: Chicago Bears

The Bears were commanding the first half against the Vikings in Week 1, only to collapse on offense and lose the game. Quarterback Caleb Williams looked in control to start the game, but he faltered as the stakes rose. The team will need him to be better if they want to ascend in 2025.

No. 21: Miami Dolphins

Miami has serious issues across the board. The defense cannot stop a nose bleed, and the offense looks as stale as ever. Their inability to push the ball down the field is a problem, and the offensive line is a liability. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is not transcendent enough to overcome those shortcomings. Look for this team to adjust, but it could be a long season.

No. 20: Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons fought hard and strong in Week 1. They nearly pulled out a massive win against the Buccaneers. Ultimately, the defense could not hold up in the end, but there were many positives to be taken from this outing. The Falcons may be on to something with Michael Penix Jr. behind center.

No. 19: Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals' offense found ways to get Marvin Harrison Jr. the ball in the receiving game in Week 1. Harrison turned five receptions into 71 yards and a touchdown. However, the offense still lacked explosive plays and was never able to definitively put the game away. The defense stood on its head in the end and guided the Cardinals to a Week 1 win.

No. 18: Houston Texans

Houston's offense was completely lethargic in Week 1. They join the club of several other NFL teams that could not do anything on that side of the ball. However, the Texans were especially bad, only producing nine points. The lack of offense from this team is concerning, considering it was one of their major issues in 2024.

No. 17: Dallas Cowboys

Dallas' Week 1 showing was far better than most predicted. The Cowboys pushed the defending champion Eagles to the brink. If it were not for a couple of key drops by wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, we could very well be talking about the Cowboys in a very positive light this week.

No. 16: Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks' offensive plan was lacking in Week 1. While the scheme worked well on run plays and quarterback rollouts, the play calling was suspect. It is only one week, but Seattle has a lot to fix on that side of the ball. On the flip side, Seattle's defense looks like a dominant unit in the making. They harassed Brock Purdy all day.

No. 15: San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers' defense managed to shut down the new-look Seattle offense in Week 1. Just when Seattle had them on the ropes in the final seconds, a Nick Bosa strip sack sealed the victory. Still, the offense looked questionable, and the go-ahead touchdown pass by Purdy seemed lucky.

No. 14: Denver Broncos

The Broncos did not look like anything close to a team ready to compete for the AFC West title in Week 1. Quarterback Bo Nix looked about as bad as he ever did during the early portion of his rookie season. A second-year leap was expected for Nix, but he reverted to making many of the mistakes that plagued him early in 2024. The defense continues to remain dominant. As long as that unit is in order, the Broncos' offense will have time to catch up.

No. 13: Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals must have been the luckiest team in the NFL in Week 1. Two missed kicks by the Browns and a tipped game-sealing interception were what was needed to secure a victory against a vastly inferior team. The Bengals cannot play like this all year and expect to compete in a loaded AFC. They have a great opportunity to bounce back in Week 2 against Jacksonville.

No. 12: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers did well to recover from a lackluster first half in Atlanta. Rookie wideout Emeka Egbuka looks like the real deal, and quarterback Baker Mayfield continues to fight through adversity. The defense stepped up as well, as they were able to limit big plays from Atlanta's offense outside of a long Bijan Robinson touchdown reception.

No. 11: Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings have dipped slightly in the power rankings after an ugly win against the Bears on Monday night. Young quarterback J.J. McCarthy looked outmatched in the first half of the game. However, he came back with a vengeance in the second half and led the Vikings to victory. If the Vikings can build on this performance, they will rise up the power rankings very quickly.

No. 10: Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers' offensive explosion in Week 1 against a quality Jets defense bodes well for the team's outlook in 2025. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers looked closer to his old self than the version we have come to know over the last few seasons. He will not throw four touchdowns every week, but if this team truly took a leap forward, they could be legitimate contenders with a championship-caliber defense.

No. 9: Los Angeles Rams

The Rams showcased a dominant defense in Week 1. They held the Texans to nine points and dominated at the line of scrimmage. This is who the Rams are now. Despite a relatively successful passing attack in Week 1, the Rams' new identity can be tied to excellent defense. Look for that to continue this season.

No. 8: Detroit Lions

The Lions are in danger of taking a huge skid down the power rankings after an awful showing in Week 1. What was perhaps most surprising was this team's inability to run the ball with any sort of effectiveness. The Lions have a lot to fix before Week 2. They'd better get their act together before the NFC North quickly slips away.

No. 7: Washington Commanders

The Commanders had an up-and-down victory in Week 1. On one hand, they held the Giants to six points. On the other hand, they probably could have stood to score more points on offense and increase their efficiency. It is one week, but expectations remain high for this team.

No. 6: Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers dominated the Chiefs in Week 1. While the final score was ultimately close, it never felt like the Chiefs were going to make a serious push for the win. Quarterback Justin Herbert was an animal. The Chargers' offense did whatever it wanted to a supposedly great Chiefs defense. This could be the beginning of a special run.

No. 5: Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs find themselves sliding down the power rankings after a Week 1 game that showed the same issues that plagued the team in 2024. While the offensive line held up ok, right tackle Jawaan Taylor continues to be a liability. The loss of wide receiver Xavier Worthy to a shoulder injury early in the game did not help either. The team is too well-coached not to bounce back, but a few more showings like this and we will be wondering if the road to the Super Bowl will go through somewhere else.

No. 4: Green Bay Packers

In Week 1, the Packers looked every bit like the Super Bowl contender everyone expects them to be following the trade for Micah Parsons. Parsons made the most of his limited opportunities and recorded his first sack as a Packer. The Lions never stood a chance in this game.

No. 3: Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens had the Bills right where they wanted them in Week 1, but a Josh Allen-led comeback was too much for Baltimore to overcome. In one of the only very exciting and high-scoring games of the week, Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry showed what they are made of. This team will be fine, but they need to find a way to stop blowing games down the stretch.

No. 2: Buffalo Bills

The Bills were in midseason form in Week 1 against the Ravens. Allen played Superman for a team that nearly let victory slip away. He led an incredible comeback down the stretch to secure a win. Allen will not account for over 400 yards and four touchdowns every week, but the sheer threat of him doing so keeps the Bills in the contender conversation.

No. 1: Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles squeaked out a victory in Dallas on the back of a Jalen Hurts herculean effort. The Eagles failed to run the ball efficiently in this game, but Hurts made play after play to propel the team to victory. The Eagles had some holes on defense exposed in this game, but they remain at the top of the league, for now.
