DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/27/19): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on June 27th, 2019. Ben Rolfe's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Thursday can be a strange day when it comes to the split of the slate, with some teams finishing series and getting ready to travel, while others are starting new series. This week is no different, with six games on the afternoon portion of the slate and four in the evening. However, despite the numerical advantage for the afternoon, the biggest prize money can be found in the evening, and therefore that is where will focus our attention.

Unsurprisingly, the Nationals are the biggest favorites on this slate as they travel to Miami to face the Marlins. The Dodgers are a close second, and as would be expected for their trip to Colorado, the total in that game far exceeds the other three. However, as you would expect if you want to capitalize on these situations, you are going to have to pay the salary to do it.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 6/27/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Be sure to also check out all the Vegas Odds for today's slate. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @benrolfe15.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Stephen Strasburg, WSH (@ MIA) - $11,900

It is hard not to pick Strasburg on this slate. With the Dodgers playing in Colorado, and a lot of question marks in other games it is worth going for the best pitcher in the best situation on this slate. The Marlins rank dead last in home runs and slugging percentage, as well as runs, so Strasburg should have a pretty solid floor in this one. Frustratingly he has been up and down this season, but one of those up performances was  40 point return against the Marlins back in April.

Griffin Canning, LAA (vs. OAK) - $8,500

Until last time out against the Cardinals, Canning had been a safe double-digits points scorer, putting up five scores over 15 in six games. Two of those starts were against the Athletics, who mash left-handed pitchers but are less convincing against right-handed pitchers. Canning also strikes out enough hitters to offer some upside, but his ceiling is limited by seemingly always giving up at least an earned run or two. Pairing Canning with Strasburg is going to leave you short on hitting, so you may want to look elsewhere with this pick if you are intent on getting Strasburg in your lineup.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

C - Jonathan Lucroy, LAA (vs. OAK) - $3,300

It is not a pretty day for catching options, and that is emphasized by Lucroy being the best option. The veteran catcher has a solid .318 wOBA against right-handed pitchers. His ISO at .109 is not great. but he is a solid value at this price on a weak slate for the position.

1B - Mark Canha, OAK (@ LAA) - $3,800

Canha has become a value because of his struggles in June. However, his record against right-handed pitchers across the season means you have to consider him. With righties on the mound, he has seven home runs, with a .309 ISO and a .395 wOBA. Additionally, he has been a far better hitter on the road than at home, with a .369 ISO and a .400 wOBA on the road.

2B - Tommy La Stella, LAA (vs. OAK) - $4,400

La Stella is a double whammy pick in this one. Not only is he good against right-handed pitchers, with a .235 ISO and a .385 wOBA, but he is also better at home than on the road. In Anaheim, his ISO is .264 and his wOBA is .368. making him a solid value on this slate.

3B - David Fletcher, LAA (vs. OAK) - $3,900

Fletcher is the play here because of the inflated value of all the other third base options. His .324 batting average and a.351 wOBA against right-handed pitchers gives him a solid base, even if a paltry .118 ISO limits the ceiling on what he can provide for you.

SS - Marcus Semien, OAK (@ LAA) - $4,100

I did not want to pick this many players from one game in the infield because I do not see this game being overly high scoring. However, the Angels and Athletics game is the only game that offers any value. Semien has hit nine of his 11 home runs off of right-handed pitchers, giving him a .165 ISO and a .337 wOBA. It is not spectacular, but there is no position weaker than shortstop or catcher on this slate.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Joc Pederson, LAD (@ COL) - $5,400

If I am flashing the cash then it is on the right-handed pitcher killer on the road in Colorado, against a pitcher who struggled last time out in this ballpark. Pederson has hit all 20 of his home runs off of right-handed pitchers, with a .356 ISO and a .386 wOBA.

Adam Jones, ARI (@ SF) - $4,000

Again this pick is about value, even if the situation is not ideal. Jones has a .329 wOBA and a .193 ISO against right-handed pitchers. He hits in the middle of a solid lineup against a mediocre pitcher, and there is every chance he can return value on this pick, even in a tough ballpark.

Garrett Cooper, MIA (vs. WSH) - $4,200

Cooper is another less than spectacular option, but there is just a complete lack of value on this slate. Cooper's numbers at home are not as good as on the road, but they are salvaged when he faces right-handed pitchers at home when he has a .385 wOBA and a .333 batting average. He should be able to offer you a solid floor at a reasonable price, paving the way for you to try and get a Dodger or two in your lineup. Cooper is also having a superb month, with four home runs and a .377 batting average.
