Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 15:
Bo Nix, Denver Broncos
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix had an efficient day through the air, leading his team to a 10th straight win on the season after defeating the Las Vegas Raiders 24-17. Nix finished the day completing 31 of 38 passes for 212 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions, while adding three carries for 15 yards and a rushing touchdown. After such a disappointing performance in his Week 11 matchup against the Raiders, this was a healthy redemption game for him to correct his scoring floor before entering the fantasy playoffs. With the Green Bay Packers on deck for Week 15, Nix will face another challenging defense.
Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was very contemplative about his future during a press conference on Wednesday, leading to many raised eyebrows around the league. "If I want to keep doing this, I have to have fun doing this. I have been through a lot. If it's not fun, then what am I doing it for? That is the mindset I am trying to bring to the table," Burrow said. The star QB also added that he has "a lot of things going on" right now, both personal and football-related.
We don't know exactly what Burrow is thinking, but he could be losing trust in the Bengals' front office or wondering how long he wants to continue to play football if he keeps getting beaten up. The 29-year-old suffered the third serious injury of his career in Week 2 -- a turf-toe injury that required surgery. ESPN's Adam Schefter points out that Burrow has been sacked a whopping 203 times in 73 career games. It's something to keep an eye on going forward, but for fantasy football purposes, Burrow will continue to be a strong QB1 option as long as he's in Cincy.
J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy has largely struggled so far this season. Across seven starts, the 22-year-old has completed 56% of his pass attempts for 1,092 yards, nine touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. However, McCarthy had one of his best performances of the season in his team's Week 14 win over the Washington Commanders, completing 16 of 23 pass attempts for 163 yards, three touchdowns, and zero turnovers. McCarthy has also shown some ability to provide production with his legs, rushing for 139 yards and two touchdowns so far this season.
Given that McCarthy has only cracked 170 passing yards in one start, fantasy managers should keep their expectations moderate. Still, McCarthy profiles as a high-end fantasy QB2 in a favorable Week 15 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys and could be trending upward down the stretch of the season.
Shedeur Sanders, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders had his best game of the season in the Week 14 loss to the Tennessee Titans, completing 23 of 42 passes for 364 yards with three touchdowns and one interception while adding three carries for 29 yards and another score on the ground. The rookie fifth-rounder is one of three players this season to record at least 300 passing yards with three passing touchdowns and a rushing score in the same game, joining Dak Prescott and Josh Allen.
Sanders' standout performance led to head coach Kevin Stefanski announcing him as Cleveland's starting QB for the rest of the season. Sanders and the Browns nearly pulled off the comeback against the Titans, but came up short on a two-point conversion to tie the game. The 23-year-old has flashed his fantasy upside in his three starts, but will face a challenge in Week 15 in severe weather conditions against a Chicago Bears defense that leads the league with 27 takeaways this season.
Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (ankle) is back at the team's practice on Thursday, as expected, according to Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun. Jackson missed a few games early this year with a hamstring injury, and he's been listed on the injury report for several weeks with various lower-body injuries. The 28-year-old has played through an ankle issue of late and should do so again this weekend in another crucial divisional matchup against the hosting Cincinnati Bengals.
The 28-year-old two-time MVP hasn't looked quite like himself in 2025, and he probably hasn't been 100% healthy. The good news is that Jackson had seven carries for 43 yards and his second rushing touchdown of the year in last week's loss to the Steelers. Although Jackson didn't throw a touchdown pass two weeks ago in the loss to Cincy, he did throw for 246 yards. Fantasy managers need to stick with him in Week 15 as a midrange QB1 in a good matchup.
