Mo Alie-Cox 2022 Outlook: More Opportunities May Not Equal Fantasy Success
2 years agoIndianapolis Colts tight end Mo Alie-Cox re-signed with the team on a three-year deal in March, and the 6-foot-5, 267-pounder should have a bigger role in 2022 now that Jack Doyle has retired. Alie-Cox played fewer than 70 percent of the offensive snaps in all but two games in 2021 and finished with 24 receptions (career-high 45 targets) for 316 yards and a career-high four touchdowns in his fourth season. His big frame has made him a reliable red-zone target, and he could become more efficient with Matt Ryan now under center in Indy. However, his blocking prowess in a run-first offense will assure that he's not always running routes as a pass-catcher, and second-year tight end Kylen Granson will be more involved as well. At best, we see Alie-Cox becoming a touchdown-dependent TE2 option for fantasy managers in deeper leagues.
