Houston Astros first baseman Christian Walker is out of the lineup against the Seattle Mariners on Saturday. Victor Caratini will fill in for Walker at first base and bat fifth versus right-hander George Kirby. The slumping Walker will take a seat after starting 14 straight games at first. The 34-year-old has hit a subpar .203/.250/.328 with a pair of home runs, eight RBI, and 26:3 K:BB in 17 games this month. The Astros signed Walker, previously with the Arizona Diamondbacks, to a three-year, $60 million contract last winter, but he has underwhelmed in the first season of the deal. Over 147 games and 614 plate appearances, Walker has put together a .233/.295/.401 line with 23 homers, 82 RBI, and 67 runs scored.--Connor Byrne
