FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (1/2/20): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Jake Finnen highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 1/2/20, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

This will be an abbreviated article because of the late-ness, so bear with me. There are still nine games on the slate, so not only will you need to be perfect with your value plays, but there are going to be some mid-to-high level players that you will need to start. If you do spend up, make sure you aren't sacrificing the stability of the rest of your roster.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 1/2/20. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks.

Find me in the NBA Chat Room or @HalfCourtJester on Twitter for any questions.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Spencer Dinwiddie - PG, BKN @ DAL ($8,400)

Just because I have Spencer Dinwiddie here doesn't mean I am fading Luka Doncic. I'll be honest with you, nobody should be fading Doncic tonight. I am finding a way to get both in my lineup. When Doncic goes off for his normal, triple-double like production, you will need Dinwiddie there are the second top producer from this game. Since the Mavericks have been one of the top teams this season, especially recently, opposing teams will need scoring and they will resort to their best shooters. Until Kyrie Irving and Caris Levert are at full strength, Dinwiddie is a nightly play.

Lou Williams - SG, LAC vs. DET ($5,200)

If you didn't notice his criminally low price then consider this your wake up call. If he decides to play, you can't let his production go unused. Since this is one of those days where you will be using up as much of your bankroll as you can, this is one of those perfect value plays that has little downside. You will need to pay attention to is injury status, but Williams at any price below $6K is a steal.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Jarrett Culver - SF, MIN vs. GSW ($4,300)

Anyone who has talked basketball with me knows how I feel about Robin Lopez. If you don't know, understand that he is one of the few players in the league that wont shove you or get right up in your face, he'll flat out punch you in the forehead if he thinks you are disrespecting him. Jarrett Culver poked the bear and found out quickly that he might not want to deal with that on his own. Regardless, I think Culver is going to be carrying a giant head and huge ego into this game, against a team that, wouldn't you know, doesn't have a real enforcer like Lopez on the team. Culver has been steadily improving, but I think he tries to prove a point here.

Royce O'Neale - PF, UTA @ CHI ($3,900)

The Utah Jazz are one of those weirdly consistent teams that show up at home and destroy good teams, but also have the tendency to play down to the level of some worse off teams. Even if that isn't the case tonight since the Jazz defense should dominate this matchup from the very start. Royce O'Neale has upside in games where he can fly around, chase rebounds and focus on the fast break. This should be the case tonight but there will always be risk when playing O'Neale. His lack of scoring is always enough to ruin a lineup that seemed perfect if he could just put together a quality performance.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Mason Plumlee - C, DEN @ IND ($4,000)

There are so many good options for center today, you really just have to go with whoever you are feeling. Myles Turner should have a great game because we know what he can do, but then again, he tends to just have more bad games than anything nowadays. Nikola Jokic is always a great play, especially with him trending upwards. Tony Bradley could be an extremely useful sleeper pick, not to mention Montrezl Harrell's price is incredibly low, a perfect pairing to go with Lou Williams.

Anyway, I went with Mason Plumlee and this can work to your favor in many ways. If the Nuggets start pouring it on the Pacers, Plumlee is going to see extra minutes and his size and versatility will be a nuisance for the Pacers defense. Even if this game remains close, Plumlee plays crucial minutes when Jokic needs rest and he fills a role if Sabonis and Turner become to much to handle in the paint. There's upside here, but just know what you are paying for.
