Rankings Updates: Players On The Move
The fantasy world was rocked yesterday when news came out that Ashton Jeanty had to be helped off the practice field and couldn't put any weight on his leg. It turns out the worst-case scenario did not happen, and Jeanty is believed to have only sprained his ankle. There is still no known timetable for his absence, and sprained ankles can still keep players out for multiple weeks. For the moment, I've dropped Jeanty to RB10 (below Chase Brown and Derrick Henry) and to 22nd overall until we learn more. If your draft was today, I wouldn't take Jeanty in the first round. If you do wind up with him on your team, it's prudent to reach a few rounds to handcuff him with rookie Mike Washington Jr.
There may not be a bigger stock-up guy on my board than Jonathon Brooks. After a mess of ACL injury issues, Brooks looks to open the season fully healthy. While he likely will be eased in, it's only a matter of time before he pulls a Rico Dowdle-like takeover as Carolina's lead back. Chuba Hubbard is a fine complementary back for an NFL team, but between his 3.8 YPC and only one goal-line touch last year, he does not inspire any sort of confidence as someone who will lead this backfield.
I still have Cam Skattebo as a low-end RB2 with upside, but his outlook is increasingly worrisome. Skattebo's recent injury combined with his willingness to put himself in harm's way does not scream "safe", and the signing of Najee Harris only muddies things further. Skattebo should still be considered the lead back, but the Giants would be smart to use a committee approach to control the ball and keep their guys healthy. Guys in a similar range I'd take over Skattebo are Quinshon Judkins, Bhayshul Tuten, and David Montgomery.
Talent isn't a question at all for Jeremiyah Love, but a high-ankle sprain could seriously hinder his workload and effectiveness in the early part of the season. The presence of Tyler Allgeier and James Conner makes it so the Cardinals can take it slow with their first-round pick, so just keep a close watch on his ADP as the preseason progresses. For now, I have him at RB19, and just outside the top-50 overall.
Chris Olave was already a strong pick after finishing last season fifth in targets, fifth in receptions, and first in air yards. With Jordyn Tyson's unfortunate injury, Olave has moved into a territory where I'd be more than comfortable with taking him at the end of the second round. The Saints' offense looks exciting with another year of Kellen Moore and Tyler Shough, and a concentrated offense should afford Olave at least another 150+ targets. I currently have him as WR12, and there is definitely more room for upward movement there.
Juwan Johnson is another massive winner of the Tyson injury. Last season, he quietly finished seventh among TEs in targets and was third in air yards. With Tyson down, Johnson should operate as Shough's second go-to in this fast-paced New Orleans offense. I'm currently four spots higher than the consensus on Johnson. To a lesser extent, Devaughn Vele should now be on your radar as a late-round dart throw, as he's expected to start in Tyson's absence in two-wide sets.
Keenan Allen's addition to the Colts' offense is significant. He's not going to produce league-winning weeks, but he certainly creates uncertainty in a receiver room that features a rehabbing Alec Pierce and fourth-year Josh Downs, who has never finished with better than a top-40 season at WR. Draft all with caution. Tyler Warren was my TE4 before the Allen signing, and that's where he remains. Allen may disturb his weekly consistency in terms of upside, but this is a guy who had elite rookie usage as a tight end, finishing third in targets and fifth in receiving yards.
The electric substation continues to flex its cosmic power in Santa Clara, and the entire 49ers WR room remains a puzzler. Getting a piece of that offense is enticing, but every single WR should come with a red flag, especially since it's more crowded now with the signing of their old friend Deebo Samuel Sr. Mike Evans is the best bet for production, and I have him right on the WR2/3 cusp with his injury history.
George Kittle's Week 1 status is one to watch, as he could far outstrip his ADP if he's healthy right away. Rookie De'Zhaun Stribling is a fun one to roster, but the fact that his ADP is now rising into the single-digit rounds may be a little overhyped.
Texans' WR Jayden Higgins was rising before suffering an unfortunate ACL injury during practice, and he'll now miss the entire 2026 season. There's not a ton of movement in my rankings based on this, but a couple of things bear mentioning.
First, I've moved Nico Collins from WR10 to WR8, ahead of both Drake London and George Pickens. His role shouldn't change much (he was already the alpha), but it's fine to predict a few extra targets/red zone looks. Second, Jaylin Noel and Tank Dell have both entered the conversation as late-round fliers as to who will be the next man up for Higgins' targets. Finally, Dalton Schultz was the biggest mover on my rankings, jumping from TE20 to TE16. He quietly finished just outside the top-12 at the position last season, and remains a solid red-zone target for C.J. Stroud. I would take him over Jake Ferguson, Brenton Strange, and Hunter Henry.
