Tyler Higbee 2018 Outlook: A Ram Of A Situation
6 years agoWhile Tyler Higbee and Gerald Everett were going to form a one-two punch at the tight end position for the Rams in 2017, the maturing of Jared Goff and the reemergence of Todd Gurley meant there was only room for one of them to make his mark in the passing game with the receivers at the wideout position doing their jobs to get open. With Gerald Everett being the prototypical tight end of Sean McVay’s liking, he was the one to win out, meaning for the next few seasons at least it will be Everett and not Higbee who you want in Los Angeles. Higby will be designated to the backup role unless he is traded to another team allowing him to shine. If there were to be an injury to Everett, Higbee would still not gain much value as he would still be a fifth or sixth option behind the receivers as well as running backs Todd Gurley and John Kelly. Higbee can be left alone in fantasy drafts of all kind.
