Kenneth Gainwell 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Strictly Handcuff Status
7 months agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell burned bright briefly as the team's lead running back early in 2023. His spotlight was short-lived, though, after just as quickly being replaced by D'Andre Swift -- the more explosive option. Gainwell again finds himself as the backup running back for Philadelphia, this time buried behind Saquon Barkley on the Eagles' depth chart – a far superior option than Swift was in 2023. Gainwell does not garner standalone value with Barkley healthy but has proven he can be a reliable option to go to if the Eagles need him. Buried on the depth chart and in ADP at RB92 (#258 overall) – virtually undrafted – Gainwell presents as a steal for a handcuff to the oft-injured Barkley. He likely goes undrafted if not for the occasional Barkley manager that will handcuff him, but Gainwell could provide RB3/FLEX value if Barkley were to miss any time.
