If any of you out there were waiting for a resurgence from Michael Crabtree upon leaving the San Francisco 49ers, keep on waiting.
Crabtree has decided to sign with the Oakland Raiders after visiting with several teams including the Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins. The truth of the matter is there was never that much of a market for Crabtree given his lackluster performance over the past two seasons in San Francisco. Granted, he did suffer an achilles rupture in 2013 but he never truly broke out the way many hoped he would during his tenure with the 49ers.
The move to Oakland won't do Crabtree any favors as he heads to a team that already has some clutter at the position with guys like Andre Holmes, James Jones, and Rod Streater looking for targets. Throw in the fact that the offensive line in Oakland has been questionable at best as of late and there really isn't much to get excited about outside of sophomore quarterback Derek Carr.

Crabtree joins an interesting list of names the Raiders have acquired this offseason which includes running backs Trent Richardson and Roy Helu Jr. as well as quarterback Christian Ponder. The biggest takeaway from the Crabtree signing is simply that it reinforces what we already knew about the Oakland Raiders in that they are clearly a team still trying to figure out their identity offensively.
In terms of fantasy, you can pretty much ignore this move barring some sort of unforeseen chemistry between Crabtree and QB Derek Carr.
