NFL DFS Value Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel - Week 13 DFS Cash Games

Brian Entrekin analyzes optimal DFS cash game value plays for Week 13 of the NFL season. These players are worth considering on FanDuel and DraftKings daily fantasy sports cash games.

We have made it to Week 13 of the NFL season, and we have some injury news to monitor, and for now, no serious COVID issues on our hands. We have a 12 game slate thanks to some rescheduling due to last week's COVID issues. There are currently three game totals over 50 points and four games with spreads of nine or more. There appear to be some lopsided games while also having some potential shootouts to target.

There is a ton of value when looking at the Week 13 slate from a cash game perspective. For cash this week, there are many quality cash game plays like Deshaun Watson, Aaron Rodgers, and even Kurt Cousins, but to get some of the high-priced running backs and receivers, it may be a week to pay down for Mitchell. There are a few values at running back, but I really like paying up for Nick Chubb, James Robinson, and Austin Ekeler. Like running back, a wide receiver has some big options like DeVante Adams, but he is quite pricey. I like some of the value at WR or definitely some solid options like Allen Robinson and Adam Thielen in the middle price range. Tight end is all about paying for Darren Waller or punting with Tonyan or Austin Hooper.

This article will take a look at some of the value plays for each week of the NFL. However, when you look at value plays for GPP, you are swinging for the fences somewhat. Here I will be focusing on cash games and the necessity for slightly more safety as you are just looking to finish in the top half or so of the competition. Therefore, we are looking for cheaper players who should see a decent workload, pass attempts, targets, or carriers. Let's take a look at the cash value plays for Week 13 of the 2020 NFL season.

Week 13 Quarterback Cash Game Value Plays

Mitchell Trubisky, CHI vs DET | DK: $5,400, FD: $6,900

It is rarely ever a fun time rostering Trubisky for DFS, but this week he comes in as a really nice cash game value. He has started four games this season and has scored 12.5 DK and FD points in each start. He is coming off a strong game last week versus the Packers, where he put up 21 fantasy points, and that was with two interceptions. He will be going up against a Lions team that he is quite familiar with and a team he has averaged nearly 24 fantasy points per start against. The current Lions Defense is ranked 24 over the last four games versus the quarterback, allowing 296 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, and 22 fantasy points per game. The Bears are three-point favorites this week with a 24 point implied team total that should result in Trubisky throwing it early and often.

Mike Glennon, JAX at MIN | DK: $4,800, FD: $6,800

Like Trubisky, there is nothing sexy about restoring Mike Glennon, but his price tag dictates quite a nice cash gameplay. He put up 18 points last week, throwing for 235 yards and two touchdowns. He will head into Minnesota this Sunday as 10 point underdogs and an implied team total of nearly 21. The Vikings' defense has been strong in recent weeks, but they allow 270 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, and over 20 fantasy points per game this season. Glennon is a super punt play, but the volume should be there in bunches for your cash game lineup.

Week 13 Running Back Cash Game Value Plays

Wayne Gallman, NYG at SEA | DK: $5,600, FD: $6,100

Gallman continues to be a cash game stud week in and week out since he was named the Giants' starter. He has put up double-digit fantasy points in five straight weeks and scored at least one touchdown in each game. He has 15 or more touches in four of the five games, and last week, with Daniel Jones going down, he ran the ball 24 times. He brings an excellent cash game floor into Sunday's action versus a Seahawks Defense ranked 21 versus running backs over the last four games. They allow only 47 rushing yards, but nearly six receptions, and 25 fantasy points per game over the last four. Gallman's workload should be heavy again this week as the Giants are 10.5 point underdogs and Colt McCoy under center.

David Montgomery, CHI vs DET | DK: $5,500, FD: $6,200

Montgomery heads into Week 13 as one of the most talked-about plays of the week, and we know that usually does not end well. He takes on a Lions defense that 32 on the season and 32 in the last four weeks versus running backs. Over the last four weeks, they allow backs to gain nearly 120 yards on the ground, receive five catches, and score over 35 fantasy points per week. Those are gaudy numbers, numbers even Montgomery could not screw up, right? Montgomery has been known to let us down when popular but let's look at what he has actually done this season. He has scored double-digit fantasy points in seven of 10 games this season. The Bears are favored by three and have a 24 point implied team total. He has also received five or more targets in six of the last seven weeks. The volume should be plenty for Montgomery, and a solid floor should lead to solid cash game value this week.

Week 13 Wide Receiver Cash Game Value Plays

Robert Woods, LAR at AZ | DK: $5,900, FD: $7,100

In the grand scheme of things, you could go with Woods or his teammate Cooper Kupp in cash this week, but I always go with Woods, who is cheaper and more consistent. He has been targeted at least five times in every game this season and has scored 10 or more fantasy points in all but two games this season. He even adds a little rushing upside from time to time. Over the last three games, he has accounted for nearly 26% of the team's air yards and over 28% of the target share. In his career, he has averaged over 27 fantasy points per game versus the Cardinals and has scored nearly 16 per game in his last two. Woods is also averaging nearly 21 fantasy points in his last six road games and nearly 23 fantasy points in his last four close games. They are three-point favorites this week versus the Cardinals with a 25 point implied team total. Expect Woods to be involved a lot this Sunday.

Brandin Cooks, HOU vs IND | DK: $5,600, FD: $6,500

Cooks will likely be the most popular wide receiver on the slate since Will Fuller has been suspended for taking PED's. Cooks will be worth the chalk with his current price point and target share. He has five or more targets in all but one game this season and has double-digit fantasy points in seven straight games. He has accounted for nearly 27% of the team's air yards, a 25% target share, and nearly 17% of the red zone targets over those seven games. Those numbers should all be going up, and in a game where the Texans are 3.5 point underdogs with a 24.5 point implied team total, Cooks should see another heavy dose of passes from Watson this Sunday.

Denzel Mims, NYJ vs LV | DK: $4,100, FD: $5,500

I will keep going back to Mims if he keeps getting targeted at the rate he has been late. He has seven or more targets in four of five games this season and has 10 or more fantasy points in three straight games. Over the last three games, Mims has been a monster for the Jets and ready for a big big game. He has accounted for nearly 44% of the team's air yards and over 30% of the target share in those three games. He takes on a Raiders defense, ranked 27 versus wide receivers over the last four weeks allowing nearly 45 fantasy points per game to opposing WR.

UPDATE: Andy Isabella, AZ vs LAR | DK: $3,200, FD: $4,800

I just wanted to mention that Larry Fitzgerald will be out again this week due to COVID, which opens the door for Isabella once again. Last week he saw six targets and made four catches. The volume should be there once again in a game where the Cardinals have a 23 point implied team total and are three-point underdogs at home. If looking for a complete cash game punt at wide receiver, then Isabella is likely your guy.

There is a ton of value at WR for cash. If you have other questions, just let me know.

Week 13 Tight End Cash Game Value Plays

Robert Tonyan, GB vs PHI | DK: $3,700, FD: $5,900

Hooper is another solid value in cash, and if certain injury news pans out, there should be some more, but for now, it's Tonyan time. It appears Rodgers has become a fan of Tonyan in recent weeks as he's been targeted four or more times in three straight games and four of his last five. He also has five or more receptions in three of five and scored double-digit fantasy points in three of five. Over the last three games, he has a 15% target share and a 10% red zone target share. He will be facing an Eagles Defense that ranks 22 versus tight ends on the season, allowing over five receptions and 13 fantasy points per game.

UPDATE: Anthony Firkser, TEN vs CLE | DK: $2,500, FD: $4,600

With the news of Jonnu Smith now inactive for Sunday's game, Firkser lines up as a phenomenal cash game value. He will slide in as the Titans lead passing catching options at tight end. Before last week's dud, Firkser had scored five or more points in three of four games and had a monster 28 point performance in Week 6 when he had 8 catches for 113 yards and a touchdown. It also does not hurt that Firkser will be facing a Browns Defense, which ranks 30 on the season and 30 over the last four games versus the tight end. Over the last four games, they are allowing on average six catches for 62 yards and a touchdown, good for 18 fantasy points per game. There is no reason not to play Firkser in cash this week.
